A previously unused shot of the Des Bulles by @sartorybillard and @martinpulli

Des Bulles translates to ā€˜bubbles’ in English and is apparently what you say in France if someone asks what you want to drink. Maybe I’ve got that wrong and it’s not every timešŸ¤” Would be an expensive night out.

Im not sure if any are still available, but Martin is the man to ask if you want some bulles on your wrist. by @watch_ape

I almost didn’t post these as there’s something not quite right about them. It could just be the 1800s London, Jack the Ripper style shot that put me off.

This is my favourite @holthinrichs - crisp white dial, simple layout, blued hands to match the numerals and the signature case design a contrast to the dial’s simplicity.

(I can almost hear the person who made the dial shouting at me that it wasn’t simple, but you know what I mean).

And yes I know that’s the Amsterdam skyline and not Delft’s…

But ignore all that and just admire the Delft Blue🫣 by @watch_ape

The @artimecreations ART02-TI

So obviously the info below is from google, but it doesn’t explain how it looks in person. No bling, no showing off, just high end watchmaking with nowhere to hide. Great to photograph as there’s so many details and another watch that didn’t need marks and dust removed - so of course I’m a fan.

ā€˜Utilises a patented structure with no traditional mainplate or base plate, allowing the 40mm curved titanium and sapphire case to form an integral part of the movement itself. Features a coaxial dual seconds display powered by a 5-second remontoir d’égalité at the 9 o’clock position, offering simultaneous reading of continuous running seconds and jumping seconds. 80 hours power reserve, with the indicator at 3 o’clock.’ by @watch_ape

Taken from the wrist of Amr (with his consent), while he was swamped with visitors to his stand at the Beau Rivage back in April.

After our previous encounter, I decided to play it safe and not give him a hug this time. Now, when I close my eyes, I can still see the disappointed look on his face.

(If you’re new here, I’m only joking. We hugged a lot. Almost too much🫪)

It wasn’t possible to take any lume shots unfortunately, but maybe next time. Instead you can have a closer look at how those individuals layers combine to create the depth of this dial.

And if you want to know how all the photos I take on location would look without the added backgrounds, swipe to the end and gasp at the boringness that would be my IG page if I didn’t bother 🄱

I liked the 1902 Synergy collab with Peter Speake more than I thought I would after seeing the launch photos. I could picture myself sailing (which I can’t do) on my yacht (that I don’t own) to Monaco (where I’ve never been) and wearing this. I would look cool as I was sinking after hitting a rock.

I saw the 1902 Petite Seconds recently (no photos of it unfortunately), which would be my pick over the 1902 GMT. Its simpler layout is more to my taste. I really liked the grey dial one, which I wouldn’t normally go for.
Great movements are to be expected and the shots above are from the Synergy. Added bonus, there was no dust on it, so saved a lot of time in post.

I wasn’t really a fan of the brand until seeing these newer models, but I’ve been converted. I’m sure everyone at @schwarzetienne will be overjoyed to hear that… by @watch_ape

The @l.leroy1785 Elyor - 288 components, a micro-rotor, 60-hour power reserve, a flying tourbillon that completes a full rotation every 60 seconds, a 42mm by 11.8mm thick case made of (I think) platinum.

I have no idea how much it costs, but as with most watches with a tourbillon, I assume if you have to ask…

(If you don’t have to ask, then just get one. It’s cool.) by @watch_ape

For the @sartorybillard Des Bulles I thought I would be taking photos of champagne glasses full of bubbles, spraying it around like the F1 podium and corks popping everywhere.

Instead I went with minimal backgrounds and let the bubbles on the dial do the talking instead. I did go as far as buying a bottle of champagne for the shots (big fat lie - it was the cheapest Prosecco I could find), but decided against making the shots too busy.

The last few shots are the exact reason I didn’t go crazy🫣and what happens when you decide to start messing about with things. Less is more.

For more info on the watch, head to Armand’s post, where your eyes will thank you and you will read about how the dial was made.

Belvedere Titan and Waltz N°1 Ornament Edition by @carlsuchysoehne

The Titan is the titanium version of the Belvedere, a watch that has some great details and ones that don’t always stand out in photos (like mine, but I’ve got a whole load of excuses for thatšŸ™„) The case sides have amazing curves and are polished and blasted to give more contrast. I haven’t read anyone go in to the cushion case design in detail, which is a shame, as it’s one of the best features of this watch.
Flip it over and you get a gold plated rotor, engraved with the Belvedere Palace, and that theme continues on the back of the rubber strap. The crown deserves a mention too as this has been subject to the same attention to detail as in the rest of the watch.

The Waltz is more formal and might hypnotise you if you look at the rotating sub dial for too long. On the back there’s a gold plated micro rotor and skeletonised bridges to mirror the dial design. Unlike the Belvedere’s more sporty 100m water resistance, the Waltz is only 30m, but enough to take a quick dip in the fountain at the Belvedere Palace (and probably get arrested, so don’t do that) by @watch_ape

One of the hottest watches of the year? Could be. Another watch in a long list that I would have liked more time with, Inspiration One was one of a few stand outs from Geneva watch week.
With everyone watching to see what comes next, it will be interesting to see how this design either evolves or if Mathieu goes for something completely different. Either way, it’s a fantastic debut.

I had seen some of Frederic’s work before, but although I could appreciate the engineering and skill involved (appreciate, not understand), they weren’t to my taste.
However this new 39mm version changes all that, with over 200 components, a jump hour and day/night indicator packed into a much sleeker and sexier case. Even the sapphire fits the design perfectly.
The dial features 12 ā€˜sunrays’ as hour markers and the minute hand is in the centre. The jump hour not only changes to the next hour, but rotates the hour marker 180 degrees and therefore works as a night/day indicator. (So it’s 03:11 in photo 1).
Worst ever explanation ever of a watch that I was not expecting to like as much as I did and would dearly like to be able to explain better. It’s that good. One of the very best I photographed during watches and wonders. If you get the chance, go and see one in person. Then the above gibberish will all make sense…

A shot of the @sartorybillard SB04-E with a beautiful Pietersite dial.

This might just be my favourite stone for a dial (would look awesome on the SB10 too). Maybe time to sell some watches and make room for another SBšŸ¤” I’ve yet to decide what I wanted after contacting Armand back in 2022, so no rush…

The Segreto di Lario from @brevawatches in Meridian Gold and Serenade Blue.

The crossed hands are used to display the power reserve. The left one tracks the six day power reserve, the right one then takes over for the last 24 hours.

The movement is a triple retrograde hand-wound movement by Chronode, specific to Breva. The power reserve indication is split into two kinematic chains, each operating a dedicated cam. Two rack-and-pinion levers transfer the information to the hands, while twin balance springs maintain constant contact for seamless movement.
(Obviously I knew all that and didn’t take it straight from their website…)

The dial, that case, the movement - they all photograph beautifully and it doesn’t disappoint when you put it on your wrist. Big fan of thesešŸ‘šŸ»

An interview with Breva will be available soon from the guys at @microindycollective by @watch_ape
