F.P. Journe Chronographe Rattrapante

One of the more impressive modern interpretations of the split-seconds chronograph. Developed from the unique chronograph created for Only Watch 2017, the Rattrapante is powered by Journe’s manually wound Calibre 1518 — just 6.8 mm thick, despite incorporating a split-seconds chronograph, jumping 30-minute counter and oversized date.

With an 80-hour power reserve, distinctive architecture and unmistakable Journe design language, it’s a serious piece of watchmaking disguised as a sports watch.

New watch alert 🚨 — Tudor Oysterdate Chronograph ref. 7032/0

Very excited to add this vintage Tudor 7032 to the collection. One of the earliest and most distinctive Tudor chronographs, with that unmistakable “Homeplate” dial and incredible 1970s presence.

What makes this one especially special to me is the originality — original dial, original MK1 pushers, and the correct original components throughout. Finding these watches untouched and honest has become increasingly difficult, and that is exactly what I look for in vintage.

A little wear, a lot of character, and more than 50 years of history exactly where it should be.

Two different philosophies sitting in the same hand.
On the right: F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance. Platinum case, salmon dial, the dual balance architecture that still feels like one of the most elegant solutions in modern watchmaking. Paired with a soft grey alligator that lets the dial do the talking.
On the left: the opposite end of the spectrum. Matte black, almost stealth. Same signature on the dial, completely different attitude.
Same house. Completely different energy by @watchfanatic78

One of those watch moments you don’t forget.

Had lunch today with a good friend who brought along three extraordinary pieces from Rexhep Rexhepi:

Rexhep Rexhepi Chronomètre Contemporain II (RRCC II)
Akrivia AK-06
Louis Vuitton × Akrivia LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie

Seeing any one of these in person would be special. Having all three sitting together in the palm of my hand was something else entirely.

What makes it even more remarkable is how differently each piece expresses Rexhep’s watchmaking — from the exposed architecture of the AK-06, to the classical restraint of the RRCC II, to the incredible complexity of the LVRR-01.

It’s hard to imagine many occasions where these three watches will ever be together in one place again. A genuinely once-in-a-lifetime moment for a watch collector, and one I was very fortunate to experience.
