Joe Thompson’s Doxa Sub300t Sharkhunter.

A third generation Synchron era Doxa, this watch was likely given to Joe around 1974/5 by Jacques Cousteau or another member of the crew of RV Calypso.

Joe Thompson served as a principle underwater photographer and sub pilot, and was the only American to stay with a Calypso. We worked with Cousteau from 1964-1978.

The scratches on this watch were put there by Joe knocking around the Calypso. Maybe the scratches came from the inside of a sea flea, or the side of a coral reef shelf, or maybe he just dropped it after one too many glasses of wine with a crew of French sailors. When you think about It, the stories are endless.

Taking a break from the Doxa posts to share one of my favorite little guys- my 1969 Omega Seamaster chronometer. Just the perfect dress watch, filled with charm and style.

We aren’t just bringing the vintage inspired pieces to PCB - a few modern icons like these two Sub 300 Carbons are going diving as well! Anyone wanna teach me to do a good lume shot?
