week 1 of a dm system i built for an online coach in the us.

she already had a keyword set up, so people would type it, get one reply, and then nothing at all happened after that. no questions. no booking link. nobody followed up with the ones who said "let me think".
so i built the part after the keyword.

a reply in seconds, 2 quick questions, the booking link, and a nudge 3 hours later if they don't book.

week 1? 7 leads, 3 booked calls, and she didn't type a single reply herself.

i ran the numbers on a late reply. not great.

coachway pulled data from 201 coaches this august, and the typical online coaching client pays about $203 a month and sticks around for about 4.3 months before they leave.

that's roughly $873 per client.

now picture the dm that lands at 10pm. you're asleep, then you've got morning sessions, and by the time you open it at lunch she's already asked another coach. $873. gone. and you'll never even know it happened.

3 of those a month? around $31,000 a year.

you don't need more leads. you need to answer the ones you've got.

you don't have a lead problem. you've got a "replied 9 hours later" problem.

3 messages fix most of it.

1. reply in seconds. people message you when they're fired up, and by the time you've finished your sessions and opened your phone that night, the feeling's usually gone.

2. ask 2 questions before the price: their goal and when they'd start. now the price sounds like a plan.

3. follow up on "let me think". one friendly nudge, 3 hours later. most people never say no. they forget.

you can do all 3 by hand. i'd rather you set it up once and let it run while you coach.

5 things coaches ask me before they say yes. fair questions.

1. do i need your password? no. you add me to manychat as an editor, your instagram login stays yours, and you can remove me in 1 click whenever you want.

2. will it sound like a bot? only if you talk like one. i write every message from your own script, emojis and all, and you read it before it goes live.

3. how much of your time? about 3 mins.

4. what if someone needs you personally? you get an email and jump into the same chat yourself.

5. and if you hate it? turn it off. your account, your keyword. nothing on your page changes.

5 dms you'll get this week. here's what to send back.

1. "how much is it?" isn't really about money. they want to know if it's worth it for someone like them, so ask about their goal first and give the price after.

2. "let me think" means something's in the way. give them 2 options: timing or price? either answer is fine, and now you can actually help.

3. "i'll start monday" is a yes with a delay. book a 15 min call before monday so week 1 is already planned.

4. "is it online?" is a worry. tell them how the weekly check-ins work, then ask what they want.

5. "sounds good!" at 11pm? send the booking link right then. not tomorrow. that's where most coaches lose people.

save this. then send it to a coach friend whose dms are a mess.
