🖤 I’m just your problem 💖

With less than 24 hours until Obsidian who else is excited?

It has me reminiscing and dusting off some new and recent Bubbline art (which you can grab on my store hint wink wink)

✨Happy #lesbianvisibilityday ✨

I continue to count myself blessed to also be sharing this day with my favourite woman, she keeps me endlessly entertained, fed and feeling loved. She is the never ending inspiration for my art and my number one cheerleader!

Believe it or not there was a time when I felt uncomfortable sharing this side of my art, particularly because I didn’t believe that it would be something that I could present in a professional setting. It took quite a bit of coaxing from @fufu.express to convince me to create and share any type of sapphic art.

I used to draw so much of this type of art when I was a teenager but somewhere between college and working in animation I started to develop a deep sense of internalized shame whenever I drew lesbian characters. I distanced myself from creating sapphic artwork to become more ✨professional✨ because the public consciousness of the word L E S B I A N was so lascivious, objectified and sexualized that I thought it would make me look lesser for creating it.

I now know that that was me letting other people define the narrative which I realized made absolutely no sense. As a woman in a sapphic relationship I feel it is my story to tell authentically and without reservation. That is why I felt like drawing two of my OC’s because this year I am planning on being self indulgent, to tell my stories and to unabashed about it!

I want to be the type of visibile that will raise others to feel just as unashamed to be queer ❤️🧡🤍💖💜

Remember when I posted a reel about this drawing but never posted this drawing? Me neither 👁👅👁

In part I painted this for self serving reasons but also to contribute to @not4ucampaign which I happen to think is pretty cool. You should definetly go check them out.

Grab some ink this Pride Flash Day @catchingstarstattoo on your way to see the movie this Saturday to really commemorate this moment.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today I think about all my femme and AFAB friends/family/acquaintances. It’s also the first day that I drew Roth and the Muse from @east__of.west and so much has happened since that first drawing. Reflecting back on this day six years ago I think it’s as important if not more important now. The world is on fire so please be kind and gentle to one another.

Shameless little plug here - you can find this full comic in all its original messiness as part of the @bonkdcomics anthology which you should totally check out and support.

Swipe to see the first drawing from 6 years ago >>>

☠️ 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔏𝔬𝔠𝔨𝔢𝔡 𝔗𝔬𝔪𝔟 ⚔️

Just finished Nona and I’m very normal about them.

I tried to limit my time on these cause I have so much work piled up but I had to get it out of my system while it was fresh. ALSO I know Nona doesn’t have her braids in this scene but I miss her so I had to give her her lovely braids.

Some 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓪𝓿𝓪𝓷66 fanart! I’ve always imagined that Lucky puts the fast in fast food and eats like she’s on a mission. Of course the other reapers gotta eat too, just maybe with a bit more chewing.

GOODBYE 2024 ✌️

This year has been a rollercoaster.

Looking back I've been grateful for all the good and the people I have met and people who I'm excited to continue having as friends! In particular thank you everyone @hellomuka for trusting my artistic vision and @heyminhiwang for including us on your @canadasdragrace journey. Thank you for another year with @lithicentertainment and congratulations on a huge milestone for Scaravan66.

Most of all thank you to the team @█████████████ , all of whom make every second at the shop feel like a giant hangout with friends. And thank you to all of you who continue to come get tattooed and fill up the space with such warmth 🥰

I'd like to also take a second to acknowledge the struggles this year. I had to say goodbye to Vito who's been with me since I was just a baby in college. I'll miss him forever and always be grateful that he came into our life. Fortunately despite a few vet scares Koda and Muka are in good health despite a surgery apiece.

And! Thank you to my loved ones and my handsome wife who continue to hold me up through my most difficult moments, I can't wait to enter 2025 with you all and kick some butt 🎉

PS please book with me to alleviate my vet debts 🥲 taken in Hamilton, Ontario by @waysenart
