ACE Academy is heading back to LAW Rocks Seattle, and we’re ready to defend our title for a THIRD year in a row!

Last year, our community showed up in a BIG way. Together, we raised an incredible $35,000, surpassing our $30,000 fundraising goal! Every donation, ticket, share, and show of support helped make that possible.

Angela Rye is an award-winning host, lawyer, social justice advocate, and Principal & CEO of IMPACT Strategies. With more than two decades of experience in political strategy, coalition building, and advocacy, Angela has dedicated her career to creating change and strengthening communities.

She previously served as Executive Director and General Counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus and as Senior Policy Advisor and Counsel for the House Homeland Security Committee. She is also the co-host of the NAACP Image Award-winning podcast, Native Land Pod.

Closing the Representation Gap: A Call to Action for Black Male Educators

Representation in education is more than just "checking a box." It is about who understands our students their backgrounds, lived experiences, knowledge, and emotional connections.

Nationally, less than 2% of the teacher workforce is composed of Black men; in Washington State, that number is even lower at 1.3%. We need to change this narrative.

I invite you to join me for the Brothers in Education Summit on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event is designed to build our network and sharpen our collective practice as educators, whether you are a formal teacher, coach, counselor, mentor, or school expert.

At the Academy for Creating Excellence (ACE), we see the difference representation makes daily. When a student recently told us, "It feels and looks different. I connect more with people that look like me," it reinforced exactly why our work matters.

We cannot do this alone. Join us to build our capacity and show our commitment to growing our network.
