This coming season will be 30 years since the ‘96/97 Bulls nearly became the first team to have back-to-back 70 win seasons.
-
Between the 72-10 masterpiece in ‘96 and The Last Dance in ‘98, this season kinda gets forgotten about.
-
This game in San Jose against the Warriors was sweet. MJ ‘only’ had 18 points but he showed the full repertoire along with his 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
-
Scottie Pippen had 32p/10r/7a as the Bulls ran rampant through three quarters and left the Golden State with a 115-92 victory.

Dennis Rodman probably should have been MVP of the ‘96 Finals‼️
-
MJ was a victim of his otherworldly performances in previous Championship rounds, averaging 27 points for the series (the world expected 30 minimum), whilst The Worm grabbed at least 10 boards in every game, had a high of 20 and equalled the Finals record for offensive rebounds with 11 in both Games 2 and 6.
-
The photo is available via auction from @logansullivancollectibles along with many other pop culture gems.
-
The play is part of a third quarter run in Game 6 where Rodman was all over the Sonics. Rebounding, getting in their heads and assisting to the 🐐 for a sweet simple reverse bucket.
-
Head over to @logansullivancollectibles and follow the links for his 60 photo auction ending tomorrow.

Coming up on 35 years since the 1991/92 season. The first time that MJ and the Bulls threatened 70 wins. The “Hare”, “Bordeaux” and “Playoff” (no way can a shoe have a nickname belonging to a franchise that wouldn’t exist for three more years) VII’s. The cementing of rockstar and 🐐 status. Back-to back championships 🏆🏆
-
19th February 1992. The Bulls visited Orlando. Mike gave them 27p/10r/8a/2s in a 112-99 win. There were some beauties along the way 🔥

#onthisday 25 years ago (25th September 2001), MJ made it official that he had a basketball itch to scratch.
-
All proceeds from his contract to play for the Wizards would go to helping relief funds from the 9/11 tragedy.

For the love of the game‼️

Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal playing one-on-one might be the most 90s basketball thing you’ll ever see. 😂🐐

Before the All-Star Game in 1996, two of the biggest stars in the NBA decided to settle things on the hardwood for a little friendly one-on-one. Shaq was only 23, already a dominant force, and somehow decided to show MJ that he had some moves too.

Then you’ve got Jordan on the other end, talking trash, smiling, competing and looking like he was still trying to win a championship even though this was just a pregame run. 😂

Shaq even pulled out a little shoulder shake and finished the bucket, giving us one of the most entertaining pieces of All-Star footage from the 90s.

No cameras were supposed to capture history that day.
But somehow, we got MJ and Shaq just being themselves.
Imagine getting to watch these two play one-on-one in person.
