Watching an episode of I AM: The Animated Series is just the beginning. The real impact can happen in the conversations that follow!

Parents, educators, and youth leaders, here are 3 simple questions to ask young people after watching:

❤️ 1. How did the character feel?
Help children recognize emotions and practice empathy.

💡 2. What could someone have done to help?
Encourage them to think about kindness, support, and standing up for others.

💜 3. What would YOU do?
Empower young people to speak up, include others, and make a difference.

These conversations don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes, one question can open the door to a powerful discussion.

Being brave doesn’t mean you’re never afraid. Sometimes, courage means finding your voice, standing up for yourself, or knowing when to ask for help!

We’re excited to celebrate the release of I AM BRAVE, Episode 2 of I AM: The Animated Series, created by Project I Am’s founder, @JahkilJackson! 🙌🏾

What started as a children’s book inspired by Jahkil’s own experiences with bullying has now come to life as an animated series designed to help young children build confidence, recognize their worth, and navigate bullying.

1 in 5.

About 19% of students ages 12–18 reported being bullied during school, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

That’s one reason I believe conversations about bullying shouldn’t begin only after something happens.

They should start early.

We can teach children what kindness and inclusion look like.

We can help them recognize when someone is being intentionally left out.

We can teach them that it’s okay to speak up, walk away and tell a trusted adult.

And most importantly, we can remind them that someone else’s words or actions don’t determine their worth.

That’s a big part of why I created I AM: The Animated Series for younger children. I want kids learning these lessons early, not only after they’ve experienced bullying themselves.

Start the conversation early. ❤️

Sometimes reminding someone that they’re worthy can be as simple as letting them know they matter. ❤️

In Episode 1 of I AM: The Animated Series, we explore how being intentionally left out can hurt and how one act of kindness can change the way someone feels.

You don’t always need the perfect words.
Sometimes it’s sitting with someone.
Inviting them to join.

Speaking up when they’re being left out.

Or simply reminding them:
You are worthy.
You are important.
You are loved.

This one is personal.

I’ve experienced bullying firsthand, and I know what it feels like to question yourself because of what other people say or how they treat you.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized something: somebody else’s opinion of me doesn’t have to become my opinion of myself.

That experience is part of the reason I wanted to create the new I AM Animated Series. I want younger kids to start learning early that they are worthy, that being different is okay, and that kindness, inclusion and speaking up for someone else matter.

What started on the pages of my children’s book I Am is coming to life on the screen!

In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, Project I Am is excited to introduce a new series of animated shorts created especially for our youngest changemakers. 💙

Through relatable stories and characters, the I AM Animated Series explores kindness, confidence, inclusion, friendship and the power of knowing your worth.

And today, I’m kicking things off with Episode 1:

My hope is that families, teachers and mentors don’t just watch. Let’s start a conversation.

Ask a young person what they noticed. How did the characters feel? What would they do if they saw someone being left out or treated differently?

Because sometimes a short story can start a BIG conversation.

🌟 YOUTH SPOTLIGHT: ALEXANDER🌟

Alexander is an 8th grade student, Leading Air Cadet, aspiring space explorer and Project I Am Canadian Ambassador who is passionate about leadership, science, service and community impact. 🇨🇦🚀🌎✨

Through @astroalexanderg collaboration with Project I Am @iam_asaiah and the Black Child Authors Association, Alexander is helping provide 200 Project I Am blessing bags to youth experiencing homelessness.

This initiative helps spotlight youth homelessness in Toronto and raise awareness about the challenges young people face, including poverty, housing instability and limited access to safe housing. 💙

Freshman. Actor. Model. Photographer. Community Leader. And one of the young faces helping move Project I Am forward. 💙

Harper has been volunteering with Project I Am for 6+ years, growing from a young supporter into an incredible leader and official Project I Am Ambassador.

Around here, we call him Jahkil’s “mini-me.” 😂 These two are more like brothers than friends serving together, supporting each other and proving that Chicago’s young people can do BIG and amazing things.

Meet a true force of nature who is taking youth leadership to the next level! @naveawithers is an
8th grade honor student at Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy, Naveá isn’t just preparing for the future, she is actively shaping it. Her passion for making a difference started early: she has been an avid, dedicated volunteer with Project I Am since she was just 6 years old!💪🏾
