A little more fibre, a little more care for ourselves. 🌾

Fibre is an important part of everyday nourishment, yet many of us aren’t getting enough.

Found in oats, fruit, vegetables, beans and wholegrains, it helps keep our digestion moving and supports a healthy bowel. Eating plenty of fibre is also associated with a lower risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and bowel cancer.

A nourishing breakfast is a lovely place to begin. A bowl of our organic sprouted oats, topped with berries, chopped apple and a scattering of seeds, brings a variety of plant foods to your morning.

Think beyond breakfast, too: lentils in your soup, an extra portion of greens, fruit with its skin on. Small additions throughout the day all count.

Build up your fibre gradually and drink plenty of water alongside it.

Autumnal Sprouted Oat Cookies 🍁
With banana, coconut sugar & cinnamon • Makes 16

Ingredients

* 120g sprouted rolled oats
* 100g wholemeal plain flour
* 50g desiccated coconut
* 1 medium ripe banana, mashed (about 100g peeled)
* 75g unsalted butter, coconut oil or other vegan alternative, melted
* 25g coconut sugar
* 1 tsp ground cinnamon
* ½ tsp vanilla extract
* ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
* 1 tbsp warm water

Method

1. Heat the oven to 170°C / 150°C fan. Line a baking tray.
2. Mix the oats, flour, coconut, coconut sugar and cinnamon.
3. Separately, combine the mashed banana, melted butter and vanilla.
4. Dissolve the bicarbonate of soda in the warm water and stir into the banana mixture.
5. Combine everything and leave for 5 minutes. If the dough feels crumbly, add a tablespoon of milk or water.
6. Shape into 16 cookies and flatten to approximately 1cm thick.
7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden at the edges and set in the centre. Transfer carefully to a wire rack to cool.

Soft, gently sweet and lovely for an autumn afternoon. Store airtight for two days, or freeze.

Five reasons to love our organic sprouted oats 🌱

• Minerals that actually reach you. Almost all oats are heat-treated, which costs them their nutritional potential. Sprouting protects it, and can cut phytic acid by up to 60% (Queen's University Belfast), freeing more of the iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium for your body.

• Easier on your gut. Germination begins breaking the grain down before it ever reaches you, so there's less work for your digestive system.

• You can taste it. Sprouting changes the grain from the inside out. It's richer and nuttier in flavour as a result.

• Grown without glyphosate. Sprayed on conventional oats before harvest, it leaves residues in the grain and a lasting burden in the soil and waterways. Organic certification prohibits it entirely.

• A family sprouting since 1984. We come from a family that's grown organic sprouts in Devon since 1984. Oats are our own addition: the family craft, in your morning bowl. 🌱

Every family has a story. Ours begins with a seed. 🌱

For Kelda, sprouting was part of childhood, growing up in a family that has been producing organic sprouts in Devon since 1984. Together, we’ve carried that knowledge into @wearesprouteduk , inspired by our own children and the breakfast we wanted to put on their table.

We wanted something simple: organic ingredients, thoughtfully prepared, without having to compromise. So we began making it ourselves.

In this film, we share the story behind Sprouted - our family roots, why we believe in sprouting, and how our Alive Oats came to life.

Hi, I’m Raife, co-founder of Sprouted with my wife, Kelda 👋

I’m so excited to share our new adventure with you, bringing over a decade of sprouting experience and Kelda’s family heritage into everyday food.

Sprouting is one of the oldest ways to make food more nutritious. As a seed wakes up, it breaks down the phytic acid that locks away its minerals, leaving more of the goodness for our bodies.

Even knowing food as well as we do, we couldn’t buy for our own kids without compromising. So we’re making it ourselves, sprouted, organic and convenient. Oats are just where we’re starting.

We call it HIGH · FREQUENCY · FOOD: organic food at its highest possible value, to the person eating it, the land it grew on, and all life that lives upon it.

Our first chapter is sprouted oats. There’s more to come.

I grew up in a family of sprouters. In the 80s and 90s, while my parents were growing Sky Sprouts here in Devon, sprouting was simply part of the rhythm of our family life.

Years later, when Raife and I had children of our own, I began looking more closely at the food we were putting on the table each morning - the ingredients, the processing, and what was actually nourishing our children at the beginning of their day.

Sprouted was born from that instinct: to take something I grew up with and bring it into our own family. Simple, organic sprouted oats, made with care for our children, the earth, and the families we hope will make them part of their mornings too. 🌾

WELCOME TO SPROUTED 🌾

We’re Kelda & Raife, the husband-and-wife team behind Sprouted, and we’d love to share a little of our story with you.

Our roots run deep.

For me (Kelda), sprouting has always been a way of life. My parents began growing organic sprouts in Devon in 1984, and I grew up surrounded by their knowledge, their craft and their deep respect for the natural world.

When Raife and I became parents ourselves, we found ourselves returning to the very same intention that inspired my parents all those years ago: to give our children the best food nature has to offer.

We dreamed of taking everyday foods and transforming them into something extraordinary, honouring the wisdom of nature and the incredible potential held within every seed.

And so we began with our eldest son’s favourite food: the humble oat.

From this little seed, Sprouted was born.

Our organic sprouted Alive Oats bring generations of knowledge to your morning bowl. Gently sprouted, rolled and dried at low temperatures, they’re wonderfully rich and nutty, made with care from seed to spoon.

Female-founded, family-run and passionately organic, Sprouted is rooted in our love for the Earth, our belief in the interconnectedness of all living things and our hopes for the generations yet to come.

We believe food is more than nourishment. It’s a connection to the soil beneath our feet, the rhythm of the seasons and the extraordinary generosity of our planet.

This is our little offering to the world, and we’re so happy to welcome you into it.
