I’m not a makeup artist. I can barely apply red lipstick without my magnifying mirror and a whole lot of concentration.

But you know what? I’m not letting a few shaky lines, changing eyesight, or a little midlife realness stop me from wearing a bold red lip.

We’re not waiting to be experts, to get it perfect, or to look a certain way.

We’re putting on the lipstick. We’re showing up. We’re wearing the damn boots.

Does anyone even wear slips anymore?

One dress, four jean jackets, and one very determined slip making an appearance.

I couldn’t decide which jacket I liked best, so naturally I tried them all. Because apparently I’m still figuring out what works for me at 57, and I’m perfectly okay with that.

There are no rules here. Wear the dress. Wear the jean jacket. Fix the damn slip when it shows.
