CHAMPIONS ARE BORN IN BLUE & GREEN! 💙💚🏆

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Weddington Dance Team is your 2025-2026 NCDTA STATE CHAMPIONS in Game Day! 🏅🔥 And we kept the momentum going with a strong 3rd place finish in Hip Hop!

This incredible achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the vision and dedication of the North Carolina Dance Team Alliance (NCDTA). We’re so grateful to NCDTA for providing these meaningful opportunities to compete at the highest level, for bringing teams together across the state, and for tirelessly working to elevate dance team as a true sport in North Carolina—giving dancers the recognition, resources, and respect we all deserve. Thank you for believing in us and building this platform!

To our dancers, coaches, families, and Warrior Nation supporters — your heart and hustle made this happen. This trophy and banner belongs to all of us! 💪✨

Last night was a pretty special night for Weddington Dance.

Homecoming. Our biggest rival. A sold-out stadium. A game with more eyes on it than your average Friday night. (3500 tickets sold)

And our dancers were right in the middle of it.

Our Varsity team took the field and represented Weddington in a game where the spotlight was about as big as it gets. And for our Lil’ Dubs, it was their very first game.

That part means a lot to us.

We started Lil’ Dubs because we want young dancers in our community to grow up knowing there is a place for them in school dance — and because our high school team needs that connection to the next generation.

Last night, our youngest dancers got to experience the high school game from the field, alongside the dancers they look up to. Our Varsity dancers got to lead them and share a little piece of what they’ve worked so hard to build.

And after a pretty wild week, our dancers did what they do best; they showed up, stayed focused and represented themselves and Weddington with pride.

Oh, and the Warriors handled the rest. 42–3. 💚💙

It poured and they persevered!!!

We talk a lot about performing in the elements. Friday night they got to live it.

This was a truly valuable gameday experience. Showing up when it’s wet, the field is slick, and your hair is part of the choreography is something you only learn by doing.

So proud of our dancers and excited to discuss what we learned at our next practice. 💚😜 by @weddingtondance
