Hey everyone! 👋🏻 I figured I should share what I’ve been working on instead of just lurking on here 😅 The weather has shifted enough recently that I went stash diving and cast on a #drkeverydaycowl with some of my hand spun yarn. It’s knitting up so squishy and soft, but I have a sinking feeling that I’m going to be playing yarn chicken at the very end 😬 Keep your fingers crossed for me 🤞🏻

The results of my Tour de Fleece efforts ☺️ I managed to spin for at least 20 minutes each day. I found that I really looked forward to having time specially set as to spin without interruptions.

I ended up with two finished skeins of Tunis and one and half bobbins of singles. No idea what yardage or weight lol But I wasn’t spinning for productivity anyway, just for intention 😊

Just before Tour de Fleece, I finished this sweet spin ✨☺️ I spun up two skeins with the intention of making another pair of slippers. But now seeing the finished yarn, I think I’d rather make a cozy cowl to snug into ☺️ What do you think would be a good cowl pattern for two skeins of bulky weight yarn? Probably 300 yards (ish). Or maybe a shawl? I’d love any suggestions!

Creativity has been elusive this past month and a half 😮‍💨 I’ve found that there’s no forcing it and the only way through is to do something different. Sometimes totally different. I still find it completely frustrating tho. How do you cope with losing your creative mojo? I’d love to know 🙏🏻

Here’s my skein of Sahalie all spun up 🌲✨ My intention was to keep the colors together, but I lost the plot part way through the spin and kinda didn’t care any more 🫣😆 I still love how it turned out and it’ll be perfect for colorwork 💚

I gave myself the challenge of processing a fleece and knitting a sweater from it this year. It’s one of those goals that I’ve had for a few years, but just never made the time for. I’m allowing it to be a slow process. No rushing. Just enjoying every step with intention 😌

Here’s where I am so far. I’ve washed the fleece. A Tunis sheep named Muffin from NY. She’s very bouncy and soft. And was so dirty 😮‍💨 I’ve carded up a sample, spun it, and knit a swatch. The wool naturally wants to be a thicker yarn, but is very lightweight. Perfect! I already can’t wait to wear the sweater ☺️

I knew as soon as this colorway was dry, it was going on my wheel 🥹

I’ve split the braid in half length wise and am hoping to keep the colors matched up 🤞🏻Stay tuned for how that goes 😅

A personal victory! ✌🏼 I’ve felted something that fits 🙌🏻 Do I dare risk pushing my luck and make another pair? I think I just might 😏 They’re so cozy ☺️

For those that want the details >>>The yarn is a chunky two ply yarn I spun from Polwarth wool in the Wisp colorway. And the pattern is Nr 3 Doble tøfler by Liv Stangeland (free on Ravelry) by @wee.chickadee

My wool shipment was delayed this month (grrrr), so I’ve been happily carding up wee batts (yay!) while I wait for it. I thought you’d all enjoy a cheeky peek to see how they turned out. I’ll have these in the shop update at the end of the month (TBA), plus probably a few more 😊

Just because I’m curious, do you like the sari silk blended into the fiber? I ask because I’m doing my best not to add it to ALL the batts lol But I get that not everyone wants a tweedy yarn 😉 by @wee.chickadee

After a wee while of dyeing mostly soft shades and pastels, I’m back to dyeing cozy colors and deep moodies 🖤 They’ll always be my favorite ☺️

This colorway is called Winter’s End and it’s on gray Corriedale. It’ll be available in the small shop update I have planned for this Friday (Feb 6 at 3 pm PST). I’ll also have some carded fiber too 🙂 oh and a new batch of Wisp on Polwarth 👏🏻 (so not completely done dyeing soft shades, I guess 😉) by @wee.chickadee
