A little behind-the-scenes of what seasonal changes look like at Well Rooted Plants! As temperatures drop here in Northeast Ohio, we’re busy transitioning our plants from the greenhouse into their cozy indoor grow rooms, where they’ll continue receiving plenty of TLC throughout the colder months. Every plant gets a thorough inspection and preventative care before heading indoors, just another part of the year-round pest management and plant care we take seriously! Running a small plant business means adapting with the seasons, making the most of our space, and occasionally playing a pretty impressive game of plant Tetris. πŸ‘€ Speaking of all these plants… maybe this little behind-the-scenes peek will help with your guesses for our plant count giveaway! While the greenhouse takes its winter break, I’m always dreaming up ways to extend our growing season. β˜€οΈ Anyone have firsthand experience with solar or alternative greenhouse heating that actually holds up through an Ohio winter? I’d love to hear your ideas! Small business, big plant dreams. πŸ’š taken in Eastlake, Ohio by @wellrootedplants

Last week, we had the opportunity to work alongside Chagrin Harbor Beach Association on a shoreline stabilization project, planting 130 native plants selected to help with erosion control along the water. A lot went into this project before planting day! We spent time learning from others with experience in shoreline restoration, including Laura with Chagrin River Watershed Partners, learning more about native and erosion-control plants, and sourcing quality plants that were well suited for the shoreline and the long-term goals of the project. Community is the foundation of what we do. We get so much fulfillment from being able to give back, serve the places that support us, and use what we do to make a small difference close to home. Well Rooted Plants/Magruder family were incredibly happy to donate half of the plants needed for this project and help get all 130 into the ground. This community means so much to us, and being able to contribute to a project that will benefit it for years to come made this one extra special. πŸ’š Growing plants is what we do - growing within our community is an even bigger part of why we do it. taken in Chagrin Harbor Beach Association by @wellrootedplants
