It’s been an incredibly tough year for our family and throughout it all while being my greatest support @jessiemaefaulkner has been working on her music, she has been quietly working on her songs and recording. The first of these songs is Cherry Bomb, a brilliantly upbeat song which is bloody brilliant and I’d love it if you gave it a listen and showed her some support. On the 19th of August 2024 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer and my life changed forever.
Yesterday, 7 months later, after 6 months of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and finally surgery, I am cancer free, the words I thought I’d never utter. I am still on my journey and I am still having treatment but for now the relief is immeasurable.
My life will never be the same as I now try to give my body and just as importantly, my mind, the time to recover. I want to thank my husband and my beautiful girls and also my ‘cocoon’, I will be eternally grateful to the little group of people who wrapped themselves around me, supported me, cared for me and loved me in my moments of darkness, of which there were many. I also want to thank everyone who messaged me, I received some long heartfelt messages, messages full of love, messages from people just checking in and I was so grateful for every single one, it meant so much. I consider myself very fortunate and who knows what the future holds but for now I read this quote by Bob Marley and it resonated with me.
