Culture doesn’t just happen. We produce it.
Tools, training + community for cultural producers by @themuse.eum

I took the light rail to Tempe to watch pitch practice with PHXFWD. (@phx_fwd)

I wasn’t pitching, but I was getting my reps in. Listening to how people explained their ideas, the questions they were asked, and what made their message clear.

Spending time in these tech spaces is helping me build confidence in We Produce Culture and how I talk about it.

Sometimes getting your reps in means putting yourself somewhere new where you can learn.

What room is helping you grow?

“How do you do it all?”

I don’t always know what “all” looks like from the outside. But I know my ideas need more than my enthusiasm. They need my time.

Love what you do enough to organize yourself around it. Give the dream actual hours. Do the uncomfortable thing. Get your reps in. Leave room for a life you enjoy living, too.

And when rejection happens, learn what you can without letting “no” become your name.

Plan the work. Work the plan. Make adjustments.

Save this for your next planning session. Need help turning your idea into a workable plan? DM “PLAN” to ask about a paid strategy session.

How do you make a city feel like yours?

For me, it starts with curiosity.

Taking a different street. Looking up. Walking into a place I’ve passed a hundred times.

When I moved to Phoenix, a poetry open mic introduced me to people who helped this city feel like home.

Now, as a cultural producer, I’m interested in creating more of those introductions.

That’s part of why I’m building We Produce Culture.

Because living here and feeling connected here can be two different experiences.

What place made Phoenix feel like yours?

Customer testimony by @weproduceculture

My ideas do not understand business hours. My calendar, however, has limits.

This week’s reset: honor the commitments, make the necessary decisions, and let some ideas wait.

Need help organizing what comes next? We Produce Culture training tools are available for purchase to help you shape your ideas, plan your experiences, and work through your budget. Shop through the link in bio.

Save this for your planning session. What’s one thing you’re giving yourself permission to postpone?

“Phoenix has no culture.”

Meanwhile, some of us are producing it, gathering around it, and making a home through it.

You don’t have to live in the same neighborhood to be part of the community. Show up. Get connected. Support the people creating what you keep saying is missing.

“We should collaborate!”

I love the enthusiasm. Now let’s talk about who’s doing what, who’s paying for it, and who we’re serving.

Shared purpose gets us started. Clear expectations help us follow through.

Save this checklist for your next partnership conversation. What’s one question you always ask before saying yes?

“Everybody got paid except you” deserves a closer look in the debrief. Include your labor before deciding what your event costs and what to charge.

Producers, do you budget your fee upfront?

“There’s nothing to do in Phoenix.”

Okay, but what would you actually leave the house for?

A conversation with Eboni (@eboni__chanel) had me thinking about desirability: whether people want an experience enough to show up.

Fellow producers, before you build a budget around “I would totally come,” look for commitment. You cannot pay anybody with enthusiasm.

What’s the last local event you supported, and what got you there?

#Weproduceculture #phoenixevents #cultureproducer by @weproduceculture

One audience. One experience. One question you want answered.

Our @weproduceculture First Friday beta put an idea into practice: helping people discover local culture and explore Phoenix together. Now I’m using the feedback to shape what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and the businesses that welcomed us!

What’s one small version of your idea you could test this month?
