Debates used to be part of the deal in Ohio’s biggest elections. But that’s changing.

With no scheduled debate between Amy Acton and Vivek Ramaswamy, our latest Gongwer-Werth poll asked Ohio lawmakers if candidates for governor should debate each other and if Ohioans have enough information about the gubernatorial candidates’ key positions to decide the best choice. The poll also asked lawmakers if they’re debating their own opponents and if candidates for governor have sufficient protection on the campaign trail.

See what they said using the link in our bio and sign up to get future poll results.

We spent Friday building something that wasn't a media plan. Instead, the Werth team spent the day constructing new homes for families in our community with @habitat_midohio. Thank you to Habitat and their talented team for having us on-site! by @werthpr

Did you know that among all 50 U.S. state capitol buildings, only Virginia has a monument honoring women? This fall, Ohio will proudly become the second when the Ohio Women's Monument is unveiled on the Statehouse lawn.

At yesterday's Columbus Metropolitan Club event, panelists discussed how this monument is crucial in telling the story of women's advocacy in our state. Thank you to @ohsecofstate @franklarose, the panelists (sculptor Brenda Councill; chair of the Ohio Women's Monument and Capitol Square Foundation Board Member Stephanie Kunze; and Capitol Square Foundation Board Chair Charley Moses) and the entire committee for your dedication to making this a reality. We're proud to support this historic effort. taken in National Veterans Memorial and Museum by @werthpr

Today is National Intern Day, and, as it happens, the last day for our summer intern, Arya. Over the past few months, she brought strong writing and a collaborative spirit to the Werth team, and we couldn't be more grateful. She heads back to New York to continue her studies, and we know she's destined for great things. Thank you, Arya! by @werthpr

We got four Statehouse reporters in one room and asked them to say the quiet part out loud. We were glad to bring together our fellow communicators at the Ohio Statehouse for a candid, behind-the-headlines conversation with the journalists covering the biggest political moments across the state: Laura Hancock (@clevelandplaindealernews / @clevelanddotcom), Karen Kasler (Ohio Public Radio and TV / @ideastreamneo) Mike Livingston (@gongwernews_ohio) and Andrew Tobias (@signalstatewide). Our thanks to the panelists for their time and to everyone who was able to join us! taken in Ohio Statehouse by @werthpr

They left the courtroom, but they didn't leave the conversation. As part of the multi-state Justice in Motion event, former justices, joined by attorneys, civic leaders, and community members, marched in Columbus and Cleveland in support of an independent judiciary. The march was organized by nonpartisan groups @democracyrisingcollaborative and @keepourrepublic, inspired by Poland’s 2020 “March of 1,000 Robes." It was a privilege to support the events this week, helping amplify their message of judicial independence and public trust across the state. by @werthpr
