Drippy & Trippy 🫠 I took my time with this commission and I’m glad I did. I changed my mind at least 15 times on how to arrange everything and was a good lesson on patience before the right idea emerged. It turned out better than I could have imagined 🔥 Let me know below what you guys think and what you think I should name it!! Follow for a follow for my fellow artists! Reading the tides, knowing when to jump in so as not to fight the currents. The right swell can take you exactly where you need to be. This painting was a fun undertaking, I wanted to use two different 3D textures together to give even more depth. I went to Denver a couple months ago and visited the arts district, and there I ran into an artist who challenged me. She told me not to use 3D canvases as they are, that it can be a crutch that I’m relying on. I understand what she was saying and I think in a lot of way she’s right, but then again, this is my medium and my creative lane. So thank you random art lady, you pushed me to use the 3D panels in a way I might not have gotten to organically. And I love the result🔥 you never know who’s gonna push your creativity, keep listening and keep observing #3dart #moon #oc #wallart #ocean taken in Huntington Beach, California by @westwudart

Learned a lot on this little side project/artistic experiment. Taking everything I’ve learned and trying to cram it all together into one cohesive idea. I got some advice from an artist in Denver about how I should make my own canvas and to not lean on painting 3D panels. In many ways she’s right, but I live for creative hurdles and the I’ve always thought some of the best art comes from limitation. So thanks for the inspiration and feedback, already changed my approach on pushing boundaries and my finding the line.
