A Coopers Hawk flew right by my head and watched me work today from the orange tree, nature sure is neat. ‘But Nick, isn’t it dumb to work right under a loaded orange tree?’ Yeah, it most definitely is. I like to think I can just spike the oranges out of the way as they fall, or just say each painting is now jammed packed with vitamin C 🍊🎨🦅🏐🌅 #orange #questioneverything #dontpanic #42 #angelsintheoutfield taken in Orange, California by @neckvest

Drippy & Trippy 🫠 I took my time with this commission and I’m glad I did. I changed my mind at least 15 times on how to arrange everything and was a good lesson on patience before the right idea emerged. It turned out better than I could have imagined 🔥 Let me know below what you guys think and what you think I should name it!! Follow for a follow for my fellow artists! This Pro Volleyball Athlete came in dealing with persistent knee pain and low back pain 🏐

The knee was what he noticed most.

But the knee wasn’t the whole story.

Pain during jumps.
Discomfort on landings.
Back tightness & knee pain after practices.
A body working harder than it should to keep up with the demands of elite competition.

At the professional level, athletes are asking their bodies to absorb and produce force thousands of times every week.

Eventually, if one area isn’t doing its job efficiently, another area picks up the slack.

In his case, we found:

⚡ Patellar tendon overload from repetitive jumping and explosive movements

⚡ Reduced force absorption through the lower body during landing mechanics

⚡ Increased stress through the lumbar spine during acceleration and deceleration

⚡ Movement compensations that were allowing performance—but creating wear and tear

The body is incredibly good at finding ways to keep performing.

The problem is that compensation always comes with a cost.

At ARC, we look beyond the symptoms and identify why the tissue is being overloaded in the first place.

His treatment plan focused on:

🔋 Improving tendon capacity and resilience at the knee

🔋 Optimizing landing mechanics to better absorb force

🔋 Building strength and stability through the hips and core

🔋 Reducing unnecessary stress on the lumbar spine

🔋 Restoring efficient movement patterns for jumping, cutting, and competition

Because for athletes, success isn’t just about getting out of pain.

It’s about creating a body that can tolerate the demands of training, recover efficiently, and perform when it matters most.

That’s what we do at ARC.

Helping athletes move better, perform better, and stay in the game longer. 💪🏼🏐

Some extras from yesterday’s staging film sesh. Why is black and white more appealing? Abstraction. You’re mind is gonna have to fill in the darkness with its own colors #questioneverything by @neckvest
