Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service.

When I was young and first started gaining consciousness as a human being, my brother had the 2005 IPod Nano and like every other five year old with an older brother I’d go through his room while he was at school and find something I could get into. Gum, candy, figurines, and ah yes, the iPod nano! I know I’ve heard music before, but I don’t think I ever really heard music till I grabbed his iPod and found The Postal Services song “Sleeping in.” That was the first time I ever really heard a song. Followed shortly, Death Cabs “Title and Registration.” And ever since that day I’ve always cared about music more than anything. I’m aware my world is art focused, it’s my career and not music, but music will always be number one in my heart and it’s all because of Ben Gibbard. These two albums truly are the pivotal point of why I am who I am today. They’ve been in my life through every friend, first love, heart ache, etc. and I’m truly blessed and definitely one of Gods favorites knowing I got the chance to see the bands that meant most to me. It’s been 20 years since it’s release, and the Postal Service was just a side project and never released more than one album and never really performed it except 10 years ago when I was 13 so seeing that they’d decide to perform it after 20 years and I was finally an adult at 23 was the best thing that could ever happen to me. James, I’m sorry for stealing your iPod. Ben, thank you for giving me the chance to hear a beautiful life.
