Asalaam Alaikum community,

This Friday… we offer our FAREWELL SALAAM to a man who lived and died upon truth, dignity, and resistance.

Imam Jamil Al-Amin — H. Rap Brown — stood for us when it was dangerous. He spoke when silence was easy. He carried the struggle of a people with courage that cost him everything in this dunya… except his integrity.

A life of struggle.
A life of principle.
A life of sacrifice for Allah and for the oppressed.

This Friday after Jumuah, masjids across the United States will unite for a NATIONAL SALATUL JANAZAH GHAIB in his honor.

If your masjid is participating… TAG THEM.
If they aren’t yet… TAG THEM ANYWAY.
Let every community hear the call. Let every Imam know. Let every city stand up.

This is more than a prayer.
It is a testimony.
A legacy.
A lasting act of unity for a man who never stopped fighting for ours.

As salaamu Alaikum, The Imam’s Janazah will be in south Florida Wednesday afternoon iA.

We are still waiting to recieve his body but we are confident we will have him in time for the Janazah so that he is in the ground within the permissible timeframe iA.

I am sorry for any inconvenience, we are doing the best we can with the circumstances presented. An exact time will be announced as soon as we can.

If for some reason his body is delayed in transit by the government, we will communicate that to you. Please do not contact the cemetery directly. Shukran. by @whathappened2rap

Update on Imam Jamil 9-22-2025

Alhamdulillah things are still moving in a positive direction. The Imam has finally started radiation treatment. Chemo was just too much at his age in prison but iA this will be successful.
