Striking Balance

This screendance work explores balance not as resolution, but as coexistence. Rather than treating opposites as sequential or mutually exclusive, the piece approaches balance as a fragile, ongoing negotiation where tension is not something to overcome, but something to hold, maybe with care. Departing from ideas of yin and yang, the work considers opposites as interdependent states, different perceptions of the same continuum. Striking Balance attempts to frame the relationship between body and camera, and through editing as choreography, using duration, repetition, stillness, and interruption as ways to sit with tension rather than resolve it.

Developed during the screendance workshop by @drish_dreamerofdance at @shoonyaspace

Thank you Roman, LP, Mary Akka, Robbie and others for being a part of this journey. More to come ✨
