A little tardy for this post! Had to process what happened last Friday night in Paris… still surreal - Rex Club has been on my bucket list for a very long time. To have debuted here, I couldn’t fathom anything cooler! I religiously listen to a legendary set that’s been online for as long as I can remember (last clip on the carousel is what I’m talking about 😎).The art of warming up is quintessential to the scene. It’s a ritual welcoming dancers from near and far to a space where we can enjoy each others company whether we speak to one another or enjoy the night by ourselves. I am so grateful to have been able to create this moment for all of you last Friday. To the dancers who were there from the beginning til the end, thank you for creating our energy of the evening. After years of being buried in the studio making records, structuring ideas, and refining my sound and style, (always a work in progress) everything in my universe is starting to take its shape. With that being said, I’m excited to share a new planet with you all, my vinyl only series titled β€œLaid Back Stacks.”This is a vinyl only series where I play records from my collection exactly as they are randomly selected and stacked, one pass, no rearranging, no second takes, no guests. It’s just me sharing tunes from my personal collection and letting the sequence unfold naturally, trusting instinct over control and letting the music breathe the way it wants to. Happy accidents happen, and that’s the best part of LBS, discovering and rediscovering records while sharing those intimate moments of discovery with you at the same time. This will be a monthly episode. To those who know I’ve been working on this for a while, your support is forever noticed.
