With WhereNext Travel Curated Experiences, we co-design travel that connects you directly with The Makers, like Nilda Alvarez and the women of the @centrotextilescusco. Arriving in Chinchero while the mountain roads are still quiet, you will sit with the women who are encoding the history and landscapes of the Andes into every thread.

Our role as travel designers is to know the people behind the craft, quality-control the encounter, and decide exactly where it belongs within a larger journey. For these artisans, weaving is cultural inheritance. For our guests, this encounter is a way to understand how travel helps to create a sustainable path for younger generations to continue weaving rather than leaving the practice behind.

WhereNext Travel contributing photographer @dennissantacruz brings a deliberate visual approach to the experiences he documents. He combines the compositional discipline of fashion photography with a documentary sensibility, making images that feel spontaneous while still being carefully considered.

That approach is part of a bigger @wherenextdmc creative idea: treat the guides, conservationists, chefs, artists, entrepreneurs, and local partners behind the travel we design like the rock stars and professional athletes of tourism.

Introducing WhereNext Originals.

How we are turning the messy process of getting lost on road trips and following our gut into travel experiences you won’t find in a standard supplier catalog.

A WhereNext Original is not a line item on a supplier catalog. It is an experience we find, design, and operate ourselves, usually starting in a much messier way by listening for a whisper about someone doing something totally original.

Quiet colonial streets. Unhurried hours under sail. Time with the people who make the Caribbean coast their home.

We’re bringing these moments together into a slower, more personal way to experience Cartagena. by @wherenextcreative

“On a bicycle, you feel the landscapes burning in your hamstrings. That forces you to stop in small towns, the places between the places that are often overlooked by mass tourism.”

This is how we are turning wrong turns, chance encounters, and roadside meals into experiences that introduce guests to people, places, and ideas they would be unlikely to find on their own.

Welcome to WhereNext ORIGINALS

Hotel B earns its place in STAY because its location in Barranco, Lima’s arts district, becomes part of the stay.

The art-filled mansion has character, but the real advantage is outside the front door: galleries, restaurants, cafés, and the Pacific malecón are all just a few strides away.

In a city where traffic can eat into the day, location can buy back your time.

A day on Cartagena Bay was supposed to be a film shoot. Then the boat left the city behind.

@mariadelpuertodmc had offered Moana Lounge, a salvaged and restored vessel, for the day. Guests and local guides came aboard. The vibe was easy, the afternoon unscripted. Weeks later, one question remained: What if that day became an experience?

The Drift is the answer.

Guests sail into protected bays, step ashore to plant mangroves, share a picnic by the water, then retrieve bottles of artisanal Colombian rum that have spent three months beneath the Caribbean. The tasting begins on deck as Cartagena returns to view.

A WhereNext Original, co-designed with Maria del Puerto.

In February 2025, I faced my biggest nightmare as an entrepreneur.
Losing everything.

In one fell swoop, the US global aid system was dismantled, payments froze, and I was left holding the bag.

Overnight, I was forced to lay off 90% of our staff, a most talented and beloved team that I’d spent 15 years building.

All paths forward seemingly led to disaster.

But with the help of the best people left in my corner, I trusted my gut before there was proof. I made decisions I had no business making. And I chose the improbable path.

What if we didn’t just market travel, what if we created it?

This is the Ditch Logic way, the origin story of @wherenextdmc and the trailer for our new Latin American travel series celebrating people who see possibility where others see nothing.

The business we’re in: creating experiences that make people #feelsomething.

Thank you to those who kept faith during the tough times, supported this pivot, and are building with me now. @anitacottini @stephanschier @angiesmagicaltravels @fiorellafreyre @leidylozanoz @jhowan_quiroga @stefania.bm.5 @sebastianplataa @alejo_riveram by @wherenextcreative

Scouting Cusco and the Sacred Valley.

Not from Google. On the ground, with the people who actually make these places come alive.

Our team is based in Lima and brings 25 years of experience operating in Peru. The good stuff takes time to build.

So we walk the roads, visit the farms, sit down for the meals, check the timing, meet the families, and look for the quiet corners most guests couldn’t find on their own.

We put in the miles so our partners can offer trips that run beautifully, but still feel human. by @wherenextcreative

ORIGIN is our ongoing investment in telling the stories of the guides, conservationists, chefs, artists, entrepreneurs, and local partners who make the travel we design possible. Through film and portrait storytelling, we spotlight the people shaping the future of tourism across Latin America.
