POSTS STORIES REELS
The past couple of months have given me so much to reflect on. Over five weeks travelling Aotearoa with Duffy Books, I spoke to almost 10,000 tamariki across nearly 70 schools, travelling through Waikato, Auckland, the Far North and down to the West Coast of the South Island. So many tamariki opened up about things I could relate to — bullying, disability, poverty, feeling different or not feeling like they belonged. Being able to share my story, listen and remind them that books, education and believing in themselves can open a whole new world has been so special. I hope I helped some feel a little less alone. And wow, the places I got to experience along the way. Aotearoa is beautiful. I’m grateful for my partner, who made sure we found our way back to the awa and moana on my days off, giving me space to reconnect, ground myself and come back to me. Feeling very grateful for this chapter. 🤍 by @whitneyleee_b
When I was 7, living in a tent with my brother, school was my escape. One day, I was handed my first Duffy book and everything changed. Stories became my safe place, my wings, my way out. Now, years later, I stood in front of 2000 tamariki across 17 kura, not just as a speaker, but as proof that books can save. To give back to the charity that once gave me hope feels like full circle. Reading taught me that struggle is temporary and dreams live in pages. Manakitanga filled my heart. And that little girl in me? She’s healing. This is only the beginning. @duffybooks 🖤 by @whitneyleee_b
I’ve become such a homebody since embracing my solitude. There’s something special about the simple joys basking in the sun from home, savoring home cooked meals, enjoying slow breakfasts, and watching the sunset from my own space. Forever grateful ❣️ by @whitneyleee_b

Kia ora e te whānau, I feel truly blessed to have had the chance to share my story of hope and my lived experience with mental health through @voicesofhope. I’ve put together a short reel from the video snippets, which you can watch via the link below. This journey has been incredible, and I never expected to have this opportunity. I hope my story can help some of you on your own journeys. Thank you for the beautiful tautoko and support I’ve received along the way. Together, we can inspire and uplift one another.# Ngā mihi nui! 💫✨🤍 by @whitneyleee_b
Wishing you the very best on your journey to Sydney, my girl. You’ve been my rock through the hardest times, and I’ll always love you. 🩵🩵 by @whitneyleee_b
