What a moment from last night's @downtownithaca @beginnings_cu Summer Concert Series. @whoisfishig wanted to play chains on Busy My Sapde and it was perfect leading into the energy boost of the drop. @the_mathigram killed it on bass and we had a hell of a time. Thanks for coming out!! taken in Ithaca, New York by @whoisfishig

Four days after my birthday, the year is 2010. I am in Jeopardy of not graduating from the University of Rochester. After a 6 month period of appealing, 2 summer classes later, and a special request to add those summer classed to the cluster, I receive this letter:

“Dear Mr. Fishman:
I am pleased to inform you that your request to graduate with a grade point average of less than 2.0 in the “Origins” cluster (N1INT004) was approved by the Administrative Committee of the College at its meeting yesterday.
Sincerely yours,
Suzanne J. O’Brien
Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies”

Then I had a cigarette. True story.

For the record, I had a 1.9 GPA in that cluster and a 3.5 GPA in my music major. Thanks to Suzanne and the Administrative Committee for approving my request.
