We got up early and headed to the lines for a sunrise sesh. As we got close you could already see the wall glowing bright orange from the sunlight, it was so beautiful. Within a minute Arthur was on the 90 and me on the 35. Hanging Rock is like no other spot, and each time is different from the next. Last week, we had 10 participants join the first ever ISA Rigger Certification at the beautiful forest and sandstone towers of Ostrov, Czechia at @womenshighlinemeeting

The participants were tested for their knowledge, skills, and attitude while rigging in various scenarios and during highline rescues. In the end, 6 participants were considered ready for the ISA Rigger Certificate, the other 4 participants learned a lot through the experience and were given feedback, encouragement and ideas for how to continue on learning and improving in their paths as riggers and highliners.

This event was particularly tough due to heavy rain and thunderstorms but participants and instructors kept the energy high and with a little bit of extra effort from everyone we were able to successfully complete the 3-day assessment.

Senior instructors: Erika Sedlacek, Roberto de Oliveira.
Trainee instructors: Faith Dickey, Anna Kuchařová, Charles Chater.

ISA Rigger Certification in Ostrov, Czechia was challenging and beautiful. I underestimated the 8 hour drive alone and then we got absolutely smashed by a thunderstorm which delayed the entire assessment and put the whole thing at risk, but with some grit from participants and instructors, we were able to finish. We had loads of good conversations about how the Certifications can be improved for participants and instructors alike, happy to start actioning these ideas soon! it was an absolute pleasure to teach alongside @sedlacekerika 🇧🇷 @thefaithdickey 🇺🇸 and @slacklinerka 🇨🇿, three of the best highliners to have ever done it… For them to share their time with participants who are often just embarking on this journey, it was really cool to be a part of it. We were also had to pleasure of having @mr.chill.bear 🇬🇧, someone i‘ve learned from and been inspired by through videos and mutual friends for years, and again, humble as can be and can whip together a vegetarian dish that makes you think “what cant this man do?!“
The participants, mostly from Czech had a great attitude despite the thunderstorms, language challenges, and long long days of being assessed!

Last week, directly after the Laax World Championships, we had 16 participants join the ISA Rigger Certification at Käppeli, Switzerland. The participants were tested for their knowledge, skills, and attitude while rigging in various scenarios and during highline rescues. At the end, 9 participants got the Rigger Certification, including 2 participants who stood out as potential future instructors! 5 other participants still have the chance to pass by fulfilling additional requirements.

Another successful ISA Rigger Certification, this time in Käppeli, just after Laax, so we were joined by many of the sport’s top athletes, including the champs LP 🇨🇳 and Ceci 🇩🇪
Happy to have instructed again yet again with Sarah 🇩🇪 and Tlaloc 🇲🇽 , two of the most experienced instructors, as well as with Fefi 🇦🇷 and Leo 🇦🇷 who will surely lead great Certifications in South America soon, and of course Jess 🇧🇪 , one of the kindest badass I’ve met in the “sport”.
The 16 participants all did great! I was particularly impressed with the Chinese crew who had the best attitude despite the language barrier! All in all, another lovely experience, 3 tough days of early starts, late finishes, improvisations, and good discussions.
Big thank you to the Gui, Leo, and John for the work in helping to make the Cert happen, whether by feeding the crew, helping with logistics, or documenting the event! by @whyrodeo

Congratulations to the dozen new ISA Certified Riggers that successfully completed the 3-day Rigger Certification in Belgium last week. The crew consisted of 8 Belgians and 6 internationals, with 2 (new) Belgian instructors @jofcex @evertedel and 2 international instructors @tlalocura @whyrodeo. Participants were testing for their knowledge, skills, and attitude in a myriad of ways, including rigging in various scenarios and highline rescues.

Had a great time at the @slackline_international Rigger Certification in Belgium. Proud to have helped make this one happen. Great to instruct with this team, thank you Jef, Tlaloc, Evert. It‘s also amazing to see the effort from the participants side… they invested their time, money, and energy to test themselves and expand their knowledge. Some traveled 12 hours to be there, some showed up after days of being sick, others left their family behind, or juggled other responsibilities during the 3 day assessment… Thank you guys for the commitment and slackrifice. 📸 @sassisask

It takes a village to make a Rigger Certification happen! Here is our instructor team for the event happening in Freÿr, Belgium, between the 1st and 3rd of July.

🇲🇽 Tlaloc - Senior Instructor A
Tlaloc is one of the freestyle pioneers out of Mexico and the runner-up of the ISA Ranking List 2024, while at the same time actively organizing competitions, events, workshops, and ISA Rigger certifications in Latin America.

🇧🇷 Roberto - Trainee Instructor A
Active member of the ISA Safety commission, now facilitating ISA Rigger certifications, highlining & rigging workshops across festivals in Europe.

🇧🇪 Jef - Organiser & Candidate Instructor
Jef brings an impressive highline resume… freestyle, speedlining World Records, festival organiser, National highline Records, and unicycling on a highline, just to name a few. Now adding organiser & candidate Instructor for the Rigger certification in Freÿr to the list of accomplishments.

🇧🇪 Evert - Candidate Instructor
An active member of the ISA Safety commission, Evert is a relatively new highliner and rigger, full of commitment and motivation.
“Since discovering the sport via the BeSlack course I have been hooked. The physical activity has improved my life, brought new friendships, and sparked the inner geek to learn about rigging and the materials we use. I hope to keep learning and contribute to the safety of our sport.”
