Another milestone on this beautiful path that I have been blessed to walk. Being apart of the @pedrosauer_bjja is such an honor and gift. I truly have a second family that spans far and wide and have learned so much from all my brothers and sisters. Having @bigfrogbjj award my 1st degree is such a special moment for me. Not only have I learned a lot from him in jiu jitsu but in life. It is very serendipitous to have him as a mentor. I have always had to travel to grow in my jiu jitsu in gyms all across America and both of us found a home in the psbjja. I’d like to think that his journey of following master @pedro_sauer_ in many ways reflects our relationship. I also wouldn’t be here without everyone at @graciecharlottesville from my students to my peers and mentors whom the list is too long, I am forever in your debt. I truly love every person I have ever shared the mat with and will share with in the future. Here’s to growth, health, and fellowship. I am full of gratitude.

Thank you @parkcityjiujitsu for creating a space for us to come together and share our love of jiu jitsu. Having this be the place I level up makes my heart full. The history of our lineage and the path jiu jitsu took find me certainly came through here and @pcbjjmikediaz by @wickedwead

So proud of the @graciecharlottesville team! Doing big things, putting it on the line, and leaving it all out there!

@prossdoesthings showed what an absolute submission hunter she is. She also showed great control and submission defense.

@yared_velazquez7 laid it all out. A dominant performance in regulation, followed by an epic flying attempt that ended him up on the bottom and into a darce attack. He defended perfectly but the OT was short and he didn’t have time to get into another offensive system. He could have played it safe and remained playing the game he had been doing in regulation but the OT is favorable to submission attempts so that’s what he did. With his whole heart. A true warrior.

@debruyckerland supported the team and coached like the pro she is. We truly couldn’t do it without her!

@jeffcurraninvitational is the best jiu jitsu show I’ve ever been apart of and they are pushing the sport of jiu jitsu and the respect for athletes to the next level. Endless respect and love for @bigfrogbjj for having the vision and execution to make this real.

Jeff Curran: Martial Life is a documentary series directed by Alex Brown @wickedwead that explores the life, philosophy, and daily reality of Professor Jeff Curran — a UFC veteran, 5th Degree Pedro Sauer black belt, and lifelong martial artist. Training for over 40 years, Jeff began in Karate at age eight, found Gracie Jiu-Jitsu at fourteen, and opened his first academy at just nineteen years old. After a two-decade professional MMA career, he continues to compete, teach, and mentor the next generation.

This series follows Jeff as he travels the country visiting affiliates, teaching seminars, and preserving the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — showing the real lifestyle behind a lifetime on the mats.
