Some of my favorite memories were made right here in Greenville. Over the years, this community has shaped who I am, and now I’m grateful to be raising my own family here and creating new memories together.
 Greenville has always been home, and as mayor, I look forward to giving back to the community that has given my family so much, while helping build a future that honors what makes this city so special.

The future sure is bright!

I had a wonderful morning speaking with Youth Leadership Greenville, an organization dedicated to equipping high school students with essential leadership skills and encouraging them to get involved in their community.

Investing in the next generation of leaders is an investment in Greenville itself. I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with young people who are eager to make a difference, and I’m encouraged by the leadership and promise they represent for our city’s future.

For nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Greenville community I’m proud to call home. Through my work on City Council and my service with the Planning Commission, Alta Vista Neighborhood Association, and @greenvillewatersc, I’ve gained a firsthand understanding of the people, neighborhoods, and priorities that make Greenville so special.

Beyond city government, my leadership at @clemsonuniversity has given me the opportunity to bring people together, build relationships, and serve others. But at the heart of it all, Greenville is home for me, my wife Laura, and our two children.

Great leadership starts with listening.
 Serving on City Council taught me that some of the most important conversations happen outside the council chambers. They happen with neighbors, families, business owners, and community members who experience our city every day. As Mayor, I want to bring that same approach to City Hall. I’ll listen, show up, and work alongside our community to make thoughtful decisions and move Greenville forward.

What’s going on with Bolden Street?

A lot of opportunity. The groundbreaking of this 92-acre project along Laurens Road marks the beginning of a new chapter for Greenville, bringing more places to live, work, shop, dine, and gather while connecting our community to the Swamp Rabbit Trail.

Thoughtful growth like this creates opportunity while helping Greenville continue moving forward.

Honored to join my colleagues on City Council today for the dedication of the new City of Greenville Fire Station 4!

This stunning new 12,700-square-foot facility is a fitting home base for approximately 30 of our city’s firefighters. Located on Park Avenue, it provides service coverage for a five-square-mile section of Greenville, extending fire safety and emergency medical coverage for roughly 8,000 residences and businesses.

The new Station 4 replaces its predecessor, which had been in operation for 76 years just off of Stone Avenue.

The professionals in the City of Greenville’s fire department deserve the very best, and this state-of-the-art new Station 4 represents our commitment to continually invest in these precious first responders, giving them the tools, equipment, and resources they need to help keep our community safe.

Congratulations to Chief Brian Horton and his team on this momentous occasion!
