Hi! I figured it was time for an introduction 🕊️

My name is Kelci, and I am the face behind Wild + Thrive Birth. I am a wife and mother first- married to the sweetest man and mama to our three precious babies- Israel, Haven, and Harvest.

I love empowering and walking alongside mothers through their pregnancy and birth stories, and have for as long as I can remember. A desire woven deeply within me from a young age, I have always been drawn to birth- the process, the transformation, the design- and empowering and supporting women through that introduction to their journey of motherhood.

I have always expressed myself creatively through words and pictures... So I suppose it was only a matter of time before I began photographing births! I have been attending home births here locally for the last three years, though my journey with birth work began in Uganda nearly 10 years ago in 2016. Having a desire to connect women together in every season of life and bring a strong sense of community wherever I am at, I co-founded @holisticwomenshealthcollective and pray that it will bring women together in our local community. Always walking this path with midwifery in mind, I hope to pursue that calling as my babies grow. 🌸

Being able to witness + capture your unique stories and your entrance into motherhood is deeply sacred to me. The story of how your baby was birthed into this world, and how you, a new mother are birthed into the world, too. I believe that we can change how our children and the generations after us view birth and the gift of motherhood as a whole through confidently telling our own stories and empowering those around us to do the same. Birth is meant to change and shape you into the mother you are called to be- and I believe every mother deserves those moments forever documented.

Throwback to this beautiful motherhood studio session.

Every mother deserves these photos. To remember.

To remember this season, to remember her babies this little, to remember HER. And who she is, as a mother.

Even when it feels hard. The days feel impossible. You don’t feel like yourself. You don’t look how you envision. The list goes on.

You and your motherhood experience is worth documenting.

As I begin to prepare for birth once more, my fourth time trekking this journey- a journey that will take me to the depths of myself and require me to surrender it all- I know that I must find things to anchor me, to hold onto, to remember in those moments of surrender.

One of the things I look most forward to is having my three babies there to witness and partake in the beauty and JOY it will be to welcome their new sibling into our family and into this world.

I cannot wait for this moment.

Snuggled up in bed, with ALL of my children surrounding me, with me, loving on me and this new sweet baby just brought into the world. Relishing in the pure excitement and deep joy that only this moment brings. The I did it moment. The I can’t believe this is real moment. The it was all worth it, moment.

When fear, worry, or disbelief tries to creep in…

This moment is what I hold onto.

This is the gift that comes from doing the work, going through this transformation, fully surrendering, and coming back with your baby in your arms.

Motherhood sessions are so incredibly special to me. Getting to capture the fleeting moments and sacred season you are in, preserving a memory to forever cherish and hold near to you.

As mothers, some moments are forever imprinted within our hearts, and woven deep in our bones, but so many are gone before we know it- and deserve to be tangibly remembered, too.

The tiny fingers and toes that change before you know it. The way they light up and smile when they notice you looking at them. The way their little body fits perfectly in the nook of your arm. The way they say mama, the sound of their laugh, the moment you begin to see their unique personality show through.

And the way YOU are captured in this season. The quiet strength. The long nights, the outpouring of love, the role that completes you in so many ways you never knew you needed. The way your eyes crinkle when you smile at them, the way you body has changed to bring them into this world.

All of it matters. All of it deserves to be seen. To be documented. To be remembered.

The tender hours after birth.

Quiet, holy, fleeting.

Like a dream, yet tangible. Like flowing through the motions in complete bliss, yet seeing everything as if it’s the clearest it’s ever been.

You look around. Baby is here. Life has transformed before your very eyes. You will never be the same. Forever changed, and yet, it feels like any other day.

Like it was always meant to be.

New life is in the air, it is here- snuggled up asleep in your arms.

You cannot get enough, the smells, the touch, the atmosphere. You cannot drink in every detail fast enough, take it all in quick enough.

Those tender hours.

May we get to experience the very best of them. May they stay imprinted on us and within us, forever.

There is truly nothing more special than the bond between a mother and her child. Breastfeeding is such a beautiful representation of that bond and deserves to be celebrated.

Often times, it goes unnoticed. The dark and quiet nights. The rocking before nap times, the sweet sounds and the shirt pulls. The stare into each other’s eyes as you give to them, pour into them, and they show their love right back.

It is one of my most favorite things to capture for mothers, to preserve the fleeting but precious memories of these quiet moments we share with our babies. As our bodies nourish them, comfort them, and love them. No matter how long your breastfeeding journey was or will be- whether you are just beginning it or it is slowly coming to an end- it deserves to be celebrated and documented. 🤍

I will be offering these breastfeeding sessions again this June in anticipation and honor of World Breastfeeding Week. Limited spots will be available. MATERNITY LEAVE UPDATE 🕊️

I am fully booked from May forward for births and will officially be taking time off from ALL photo sessions and birth clients beginning June 15th.

BIRTHS: I will begin taking on limited births again starting in October for birth photography only. I will not be taking any more doula clients until the new year.

MOTHERHOOD: Maternity, newborn, and motherhood sessions will likely resume in August. So I am planning for our breastfeeding sessions for World Breastfeeding Week to be early August. I will keep you updated!
