I’ve been revisiting some old galleries and experimenting with my edit style.
I’ve been feeling really drawn to images that have a vintage, earthy feeling. They feel romantic, honest, wild.

I’ve always loved this style but have felt conflicted about editing “too strongly”. Worried that I will over-edit and the images won’t feel natural or aren’t an accurate representation of the moment.

I also worry about adding grain and degrading my images. I think replicating a filmic look this way is beautiful - but will my clients think it is low quality?

I’m always trying to find the right balance. I want my wedding and couples photos to feel alive and romantic. I want it to feel like a scene from a movie.

Anyway… that’s what I’ve been up to today. Anyone else question their edit style on an annual basis?

Ryan & Annissa 💍

This proposal was just magic. Ryan created such a special moment, planned to perfection.
He made sure that Annissa was wearing the dress she’d love in the photos by secretly coordinating her white picnic with friends. While her friends were driving her to the location Ryan and his friends got set up at Cottesloe Civic Centre. One in charge of music, one in charge of keeping the location private, and another on the lookout for Annissa.
Of course when Annissa was a little later than planned (fashionably so)… Ryan walked up the stairs to check what was going on - and THAT was when she arrived and he almost got caught. Ryan sprinted back down the stairs just in time.
The music played. Annissa looked over the balcony and saw Ryan waiting below. The anticipation as she walked down the stairs was so sweet. Ryan got down on one knee and Annissa said YES ❤️
