We’re truly honoured to be named Designer of the Year by @elledecorationse .

The past year has been intense. We have pushed ourselves towards more ambitious, narrative-driven work. There were moments of doubt, and times we felt completely overwhelmed.

This recognition really means a great deal to us. Thank you to the jury for seeing the work and for the encouragement. It helps us keep creating.

Congratulations to Ashley & Johan Wilén-Jong on the inclusion of their “Burnout Chair” in “New Glass Review 46,” the Corning Museum of Glass’ renowned annual exhibition-in-print celebrating 100 of the most timely and innovative works in contemporary glass created over the past year.

Selected from an international field of submissions, “The Burnout Chair” will become part of the Corning Museum of Glass’ permanent archive—home to the world’s largest collection of contemporary glass imagery spanning the past 46 years.

Created from crushed and fused recycled glass suspended within a hand-carved, selectively charred maple frame, “Burnout Chair” transforms personal experience into a powerful meditation on endurance, vulnerability, and renewal. We are thrilled to see Ashley & Johan’s thoughtful, deeply resonant work recognized by one of the world’s leading institutions dedicated to glass. by @wilenjong
