We’re back with our recap series! @willautomagic kicks it off with his set recorded from Redirect 010!

The Carry Nation co-founder has toured the world, gigging extensively, having moved from Austin to NYC in 1992, he quickly began DJing in the small bars and clubs of the East Village. Will’s first club residency in New York was alongside Honey Dijon at AudioNasty in 2000 and he went on to hold residencies at many downtown New York clubs including The Limelight & Life.

He spent several years dividing his time between Paris & New York, working on music for fashion houses such as Issey Miyake, Vivienne Westwood and Yves Saint Laurent before returning to the dancefloors of New York to create a party called SPANK with partners Sean B & Jason Roe.

A DJ residency at the legendary Vandam at Greenhouse brought Will back into the NY scene fully and he was soon joining Nita Aviance in the studio. Their natural and spontaneous collaboration quickly gave birth to The Carry Nation. The Carry Nation have held residencies in New York at Good Room, Ladyfag’s Battle Hymn and Block 9 at Glastonbury festival as well as numerous appearances at Panorama Bar/Berghain including multiple closing sets.

The Carry Nation’s current projects include a mix series on Nervous Records and Majorettes, a production collaboration with Justin Cudmore as well as their own imprint Major Records along with Justin and Mike Servito. by @willautomagic

For his second—and equally distinctive—Major Records release, the Columbus-based producer brenner delivers dancefloor funk inspired by what he calls the “glorious queer dynasty” of the Midwest, where coolness meets quirk and stank face meets snapping fingers, on a new EP that pairs full-range dancefloor functionality with restless, shape-shifting imagination.

“Step 2 tha Beat” comes out swinging, a jackin’ house stepper whose cheerful whoops and whirs are offset by an ominous horn, which laces the long and happy groove with a touch of wonky grit. Typifying the artist’s love for broken beat, “Thick To Handle” moves the needle from “ominous” to “nasty” when a stuttery kick meets wobbly synths and old-school acid squelches, all melded into an addictive body-rocker.

“Shine On” flips a soulful vocal into a groovy, electro-inflected earworm that gradually leans into its stranger impulses, becoming almost cubist in its playful beat arrangements. And don’t miss “Waltz”, which melts minds through a pleasantly disorienting babble of high pitched tones that waver in and out of key—like robots reaching toward the complex human emotions that all four tracks here are sure to evoke.

Festival season is in full swing—you probably need some hot new arrows to replenish your quiver of dancefloor enchantments. Look no further than Saintclair’s EP Sound The Alarm, a five-track collection of what the Barbados-born, NYC-based producer describes as “weapons”: hard-hitting tools crafted to jolt dancers awake and leave lasting impressions, from the warehouse to the woods.

Drawing from techno, bass music, video game soundtracks, and euphoric trance, the EP delights through surprise. Saintclair’s handmade rhythms weave in and out of digital loops, creating grooves that feel entirely his own. Title track “Sound The Alarm” lands somewhere between Jersey club and dembow, pairing suspenseful piano with playful record scratches and a formidable yet inviting energy. “Lightning McQueen” packs a cinematic adventure into a few breathless minutes, blending acid-soaked bass pressure with Final Fantasy-esque melodies and ricocheting vocal chops.

Made to sustain energy rather than build it, “Steady” is deceptively titled: beneath its heavy, unrelenting kick lies a dense network of whistles, chirps, heavy breathing, and footwork-inspired motion. Standout two-stepper “Larodam” blends electro stabs and island percussion into a shimmering groove, before the EP culminates in the controlled chaos of “Wreckon,” where growls, squelches, and the refrain “you’re running circles around me” blur the line between excitement and overwhelm.

Serious, playful, blissful, and bruising in equal measure, Sound The Alarm reveals an emerging artist with a unique rhythmic voice and impressive range. Daunting yet seductive, the EP unfolds like a parade through a spooky dreamland populated by mystical creatures, hinting at a creative world that’s only begun to take shape.

Three words: Cunty. Bass. Music. In their first Major Records release, TWONSKi dares to lace warehouse rave bangers with influences from main-stage favorites like Boys Noize and RL Grime: heavy bass, mechanical grit, and playfully sinister sounds collide along the euphoric ride of tracks refined for club impact. “BvRN” is a hypnotic warm-up, pairing a sexy low-end wobble with a bouncing groove and a parade of rhythmic twists. “EDG3” packs both bark and bite, its nasty mechanical whines and whirs primed to send dancefloors feral. Inspired by Jersey club pioneer and TWONSKi collaborator UNiiQU3, “RASPberry” fuses old-school dubstep and contemporary rave, with Game Boy-gone-wild melodies cutting through a skittering half-time beat. This is music for the baddest bitch at the club: sunglasses on, drink in hand, hips swiveling on the cutting edge of sound.
