Thank you to @the_paigehubbard_brand and @kprc2 for having us on to talk about Empower(ed) to Feed! 🙏

Groceries keep getting more expensive, and a lot of working families are feeling it. Every Wednesday, we serve nearly 200 Houston families, giving out about 2,000 lbs of food a week. That's a literal ton. 🛒

Most of the families we serve are ALICE households (Asset Limited Income Constrained, but Employed): they work, but still can't keep up with the cost of living. I grew up in one, so this work is personal to me.

We're not going to turn anyone away.

A little behind the scenes at KPRC Channel 2!

Today, I had the opportunity to share the work we're doing at Empower CDC through our Empower(ed) to Feed Food Pantry.

We distribute more than a ton of food every week to families in our community. That's over 2,000 pounds of food, and a reminder that the need is real.

Grateful to @the_paigehubbard_brand of @kprc2 for helping us spread the word. The work continues!

We had the opportunity to join Ilona Carson at KHOU 11 today, where our Executive Director @willhmerrick and Director of Supportive Services @lashundriaruffin spoke about homeownership and creating more pathways for families in our community. 🏡

We're grateful for the opportunity to share the work we're doing and the impact we're continuing to make throughout Houston.
