Harvesting Hope was a truly beautiful evening. I couldn’t be prouder to stand alongside @friendsoffieldworkers, my fellow board members, our incredible team: Dr. Martita Martinez-Bravo, Christina Cardona-Threadgill, and Stephanie Suarez, and the volunteers and donors who made it all possible. More photos are coming for FOF, but listening to courageous Esperanza share her story as a fieldworker will stay planted in my heart forever.

Growing up surrounded by farmland in the Central Valley, I saw the unfair struggles fieldworkers faced. Some of my fondest memories, both growing up and still today, were created inside the homes of immigrant families, homes filled with a meal always being offered, boundless kindness, generosity, and love for this country. In every farmworking family, I see people who deeply love their families and deserve a life with fair wages, safe and dignified housing, educational opportunity, economic mobility, and the same rights we all need to thrive and make this world better together. In a time when defending equity is too frequently met with hostility, these nights will always matter; gathering for good is where hope grows. by @willhouse_co

There is a beautiful rhythm to the 48-hour escape, especially as a content-creating photographer… the delicate balance between being in the moment with a dear friend, yet still documenting the scenery. We hit the right notes in Paso Robles & the Central Coast. Starting at our cozy home base at the @adelaideinnpasorobles (check my last reel for the hosted recap), we swept through Paso Robles with wine at @tablascreek, cocktails at @canetikiroom and World Cup viewing downtown. We let the salty wind wash over us on Moonstone Beach, fueled by chowder and tacos, before listening to vinyl and popping more bottles. There were early-morning donuts, whale watching off the Cayucos Pier, having our hearts completely stolen by a sea otter in Morro Bay, and, naturally sealing the trip with In-N-Out. Ten years ago today, this little soul joined our world and rewrote our entire lives.

She’s the one who made us a family. Because of her, our world opened up to so many beautiful friendships I never would have found otherwise. Our hearts hold so many incredible memories with you in them, Willie.
