To the families who rise before dawn to harvest, and parents building a legacy against every uncertainty of nature. To the makers who find the spark and inspire little hands to learn the craft.

The gift of photography is being able to see and honor this spirit in people.

A heartfelt thank you to @fingerscrossedwine I will happily accept an invitation to document the grit, sweat, and undeniable love that exudes from everything you do. by @willhouse_photo

Harvesting Hope was a truly beautiful evening. I couldn’t be prouder to stand alongside @friendsoffieldworkers, my fellow board members, our incredible team: Dr. Martita Martinez-Bravo, Christina Cardona-Threadgill, and Stephanie Suarez, and the volunteers and donors who made it all possible. More photos are coming for FOF, but listening to courageous Esperanza share her story as a fieldworker will stay planted in my heart forever.

Growing up surrounded by farmland in the Central Valley, I saw the unfair struggles fieldworkers faced. Some of my fondest memories, both growing up and still today, were created inside the homes of immigrant families, homes filled with a meal always being offered, boundless kindness, generosity, and love for this country. In every farmworking family, I see people who deeply love their families and deserve a life with fair wages, safe and dignified housing, educational opportunity, economic mobility, and the same rights we all need to thrive and make this world better together. In a time when defending equity is too frequently met with hostility, these nights will always matter; gathering for good is where hope grows. by @willhouse_photo

I’ve been working on the branding, website, marketing, and photography for Dr. Martita Martinez-Bravo’s Camarillo City Council re-election campaign. A clinical psychologist, non-profit leader, wife, mother, and the first woman of color elected to the Camarillo City Council, Dr. Martinez-Bravo brings deep dedication and proven leadership to her community. Looking back at my time photographing a lot of goats, I loved capturing these moments of a family building something together in such a beautiful part of the world. I’ll just be over here manifesting more work documenting animals, nature, and entrepreneurship. by @willhouse_photo

Meet Ventura County author Elizabeth “Liz” Moore Kraus (e.c. kraus)! After 20+ years teaching at Ventura College, Liz traded lesson plans for plot lines. She’s the mind behind the travel memoir 3 Sisters 3 Weeks 3 Countries (Still Talking) and her debut YA novel, Maverick - A Boy, His Crew and A Dog- inspired by her lovable golden, Sully. Such a joy photographing someone with so much warmth and passion for storytelling! taken in Ventura, California by @willhouse_photo
