The setup vs the shot.

I wanted fall portraits that felt like old Hollywood but in my tiny home studio, so I went back to one light + black seamless background.

Slides 1-10: Final product
Slide 11: Setup/photos/finished and tired!
Slide 12: Exact light diagram I used (save this one)

Sony A7rV + Sigma 24-70mm
One key light, 45° camera left, 4ft high. No fill.

If you want my self-portrait studio PDF diagram, comment SETUP and I’ll DM it. A collage of a woman with curly hair shoulder, length, with a one light studio, set up. With the words, self portraits in the. taken in Oahu, Hawaii by @williams_photoco

One light. Black seamless. Small studio.

This is how I set up for my fall self-portraits
- 10sec timer, sprinting to the backdrop.

Sony A7rV + Sigma 24-70mm, single key at 45°.

Which team are you - remote clicker or 10-sec sprint?

A collection of moments that feel a little nostalgic, a little cinematic, and remind me why I love capturing stories.

It’s always a pleasure to working with the talented @matanikalou.

Can you tell which shots were taken with the Sony A7r5 and the Pentax MX?

I used both during this photo shoot.
