We know Will.. nuff’ said… by @willofsaints

Holy shit. My daughter is fucking 18.
All right, all right. Birthday post time!!!
Let’s see… feelings? Obviously. Memories? Throw a bunch of those in there. Splash in some life lessons. Definitely some shit I owe you an apology for. A ridiculous amount of me telling you how fucking proud I am of you. Insert something annoying about boys, Sprinkle in something that sounds profound enough to make me look emotionally evolved. Maybe a few tears here and there…
Oh, wait.
We already did all that.
Me and you.
And that’s the part that actually matters.
Sorry, everybody else. That shit is ours. 😂❤️
What you guys do get are some of my favorite pictures of this incredible human being, along with photographic evidence that her father has always been and will continue to be a fucking gorgeous clown.
There really is nothing in this world better than getting to watch you and your brother grow up. Nothing. Well maybe getting cast in a Marvel movie but right after that definitely you two.
I am so fucking proud of you. So happy for you. And somehow, against all known laws of time and despite the fact that I’m clearly not old enough for this shit, you are fucking 18.
Which means you’re officially an adult now.
So sorry to hear that.
You can go out into the world, make questionable decisions and do all the dumb shit young adults have been doing since the beginning of time except now some of those decisions come with actual adult consequences.
Fun!
Welcome * insert dad pointing and laughing here *
Here’s to you, baby woman.
18 fucking years.
You did it. You made it. You earned this next chapter.
Now go fuck some shit up, figure some shit out, laugh your ass off, and enjoy becoming even more of the bad motherfucker than you already are.
I love the absolute shit out of you,
insert secret name here.
Happy fucking birthday.

Yo, shout out to the Tartan Army.

Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 rolled through Little Havana and immediately became some of my favorite people on Earth.

Loud as hell.
Funny as fuck.
Zero pretension.
AMAZING MANNERS!!!
Elite drinking stamina.
Just roaming around like emotionally available Bravehearts in plaid kilts

I’m Team Scotland now.

I’m logging into 23andMe, finding that 1.7% Scottish ancestry, and building my entire personality around it by sundown.

Let’s fucking go, Scotland. SCOTS IN FIVE!!

I don’t know the national anthem yet, but I’m willing to yell confidently. by @willofsaints

Being a dad is somehow the hardest and easiest thing I’ve ever done.
The easy part?
Showing up.
Rollercoasters. Games. Cheer competitions. Marching band performances. Pizza days. Skate parks. Watching them fall and pretending I’m calm while my nervous system files a missing persons report.
The birds-and-bees talk.
The “boys are disgusting little goblins and you should never speak to them unless absolutely necessary, preferably through legal counsel” talk.
Car rides to put them to sleep. Changing diapers. Playing Uno like there’s prize money involved. Making stupid faces. Eating too many sweets because apparently fatherhood is just emotional regulation with snacks.
Holding them when they’re sad. Holding them when they’re happy. Picking up the phone when they call.
Bedtime stories.
God, I miss those.
Working overtime for clothes, food, field trips, toys, car stuff, and whatever random object suddenly becomes the emotional foundation of their entire childhood at 9:47 p.m. on a school night.
Buying coordinating outfits. Falling asleep when it was my turn to feed the baby. Listening to the same song 900 times because it’s their favorite, and now Spotify thinks I need help.
Playing the video game.
Painting my nails
Braiding my hair ( yes fuck you I had hair once)
Teaching self-worth. Teaching effort. Teaching kindness & empathy.
Teaching them how to use curse words with timing, respect, and proper sentence structure.
explaining to their teacher that they are filthy liars and I would never, ever, ever teach my child how to cuss.
Then teach them that " snitches get stitches"
And again I'm sorry Ms 3rd grade teacher they said “snitches get stitches,?” they must have broken into my HBO Max and watched The Wire, because I am a responsible adult and clearly the victim here.
Making embarrassing comments in front of their friends, which I still do at an elite, Hall of Fame level.
Giving advice they pretend not to hear.
Watching them grow.
Watching them become themselves.
And, let’s be honest, not pushing a child out of my vagina definitely helped my overall Yelp review of the experience.
Wait…There was supposed to be a hard part? by @willofsaints

The Dead Flamingo Familia would like to thank @MiamiNewTimes for recognizing us as Best Bar in their annual Best of Miami 2026 issue.

We also want to thank our family, friends, regulars, and everyone who has ever stepped foot into our home, our bar. We’re here for you, and because of you.

To our incredible staff, thank you for the sleepless nights, the blood, sweat, and tears. In an industry where so many go unseen, to be recognized is to be loved, and we never take that for granted.

At The Dead Flamingo, when you’re here, you’re heard, you’re seen, and you’ll always be remembered.

And to the chefs in the sky 🍻

Thank you.

Where do I even start?
I guess we can start back in 2002… around this same time of year.
I was graduating too.
The difference was… I was alone.
I remember looking out into the crowd and seeing everybody else with somebody. Moms. Dads. Brothers. Sisters. Uncles. Cameras flashing. People cheering. Families standing up like their kid had just been drafted into the NBA.
And then there was me.
No parent in the stands. No proud smile. No “we did it.” No one looking at me like, “That’s my son.”
Which sounds incredibly sad now that I say it out loud. Super healthy origin story. Very subtle. Very Temu not even close to remotely a rich kid Batman.
But that’s just the reality for some people.
And honestly, for a long time, I was angry about it.
Then I became a parent.
And somewhere along the way, life humbled me a little. Because raising kids taught me something important: This shit is hard.
Like… unbelievably hard.
It’s exhausting. It’s confusing. It’s expensive. It’s emotionally violent sometimes. You’re constantly questioning yourself. You’re trying to heal while also trying not to accidentally create tiny future therapy clients.
So no, I don’t see the world in black and white anymore.
But I do know this: Some things in life are still a choice.
Showing up is a choice.
Being present is a choice.
Trying is a choice.
And a very long time ago, I made a promise to myself: No matter what happened in my life… I would never let you two feel as alone as I did.
So here we are.
Twenty-four years later. My lucky number.
And now both of you have graduated.
And I get to sit in those stands. I get to clap for you. I get to embarrass you publicly like a good father should. Honestly, I was probably three seconds away from bringing an airhorn.
And maybe I didn’t do everything perfectly along the way. I know I didn’t.
I’m still just a big exhausted kid trying to prove his worth half the time. I’ve been doing that since 2002.
Working too much. Trying too hard. Joking through pain. Reading every room like it’s a survival skill because for a long time… it was.
But becoming your father made me better.
You two gave me purpose. You gave me healing. You gave me hope.....
