We get asked if they’re twins about once a week. They share everything clothes, shoes, even a dresser. They sleep next to each other in the same room. I hope they stay this close as they grow old. We were told often they’d hate each other once Martha was born because they were too close in age and sisters like that can’t be friends. They may be our closest siblings. They have their own language and can even anticipate what each other want or need without talking. I’m here to say these two sister’s love is something to behold! by @willows_and_wildlings

As a mother to 4 I can attest December in a single word is noise. I know just saying that makes me reminiscent of The Grinch. But I don’t mean it in the “cancel Christmas” mindset. I am stating it as a reminder to be ready for it. You get noise on the consumerism front; what to buy what not to buy how many to buy, “this will save your sanity”, “I am a better Mom because we don’t/do this, this, or that.”. Noise coming from invites, events you feel like you should go to, and extended family expectations. All of which are good in small doses but not in the magnitude that is wrapped up with a bow in December. Noise of weather warnings, creating Christmas joy, regular life noise added onto the crescendo of December making the sum volume of this month ear shattering. As the default Christmas magic maker in my family it’s my duty to put headphones on and field that noise solely. Sort it out and put a smile on my face because how else are those memories and traditions gonna be made. Look we all have our cross to bear and I LOVE this cross and gladly walk this road but here’s my reminder to say NO. Say it with a smile and walk away because we are doing/being/getting enough. Also just get those fucking coats on and go for that damn walk outside everyone will feel better. by @willows_and_wildlings

Winter salad to pair with hamburger steaks and mushroom gravy. It was delicious and a bit of a palate cleanser from the Thanksgiving junk we pumped our bodies with the past week. by @willows_and_wildlings

We have been collecting Christmas books for 8 years to have this full of a crate for under our tree. All were either free, or thrifted, or gifts from previous years. I keep them here to be easily accessible all season and they get packed away with the tree. It’s one of our favorite Christmas traditions. by @willows_and_wildlings

We finished homeschool for the day. Lost the kids for a bit but found them in their favorite spot eating silverberries with their trusty dog and cat as guards. They have been building an “army fort and fairy homes” for awhile down here. I think tomorrow we will learn to identify the trees in their oasis. We are welcoming October the right way in my opinion by @willows_and_wildlings

Our smart, bold, ballerina turned 8 today! She spent it hiking with family and making faerie homes by the creek. She stayed true to herself with her pumpkin cupcakes for the 3rd year running. She will spend the evening watching Halloweentown and snuggling her feral tom cat Smudge who has chosen to become domestic for her. She’s a marvel who all feel lucky to get to know her. by @willows_and_wildlings

Daisy turned 4 today! We had to put her party on a different day so Ryan could be there but my family couldn’t be there so my sister and most of her kids showed up at my door at 6 this morning ready for a Daisy centered day! Presents in tow coffee made and birthday cinnamon rolls made! This is the family I dreamed of as a kid. And my family is making it happen! They love all my kids for who they are and they all LOVE each other. We have played in the pool, ate hot dogs and just enjoyed being together! She and I had our love cup filled and I’m so grateful for this life!!! We all make all these kids a priority and I appreciate it so much!!! It may not have started as a big family but we are now with 8 kids in total!! Living my Mrs. Weasley dreams day by day! by @willows_and_wildlings
