If you are not enjoying your Barolo, you are probably drinking it wrong.

Barolo is one of Italy’s most famous wines — but are you actually serving it the right way?

❌ Wine Aging: Not every Barolo needs decades of aging. Some are made to be enjoyed younger, while others have serious ageing potential. Don’t assume every bottle needs to sit in your cellar for 10+ years.

❌ Wine Service Temperature: Not “room temperature” if your room is 24°C. Serve Barolo at 16–18°C. Too warm and the alcohol takes over; too cold and you mute its aromas and tannins.

❌ Wrong glass: Use a large, wide-bowled glass. Barolo is made from Nebbiolo and has intense floral and aromatic complexity. Give those aromas room to open up.

So the next time you open a Barolo DOCG, remember: age, temperature and glassware can completely change how this Italian red wine tastes.
I shall continue with my visit to this wine region, and share more about Barolo wines. Stay tuned!

Those wine snobs are lying…They’ll swirl their glass and whisper — “Look at those sexy legs, must be good quality.”
🚫 Nope. That’s just alcohol + glycerol showing off.
Tag or share this with someone who still judges wine by its legs. They need to know this!! Real quality = balance, acidity, tannin harmony, and a finish that lingers longer than their opinions. Legs are only good to look at.😜

I tasted DRC for the price of a festival entry ticket.
Only in Burgundy — where festivals can seriously surprise you with their pours. 🍷

To celebrate 10 years of the Climats’ UNESCO World Heritage listing, the region turned into one giant party:
over 30 Burgundy wine events, vineyard walks, tastings in unexpected spots, art, music, live shows… all the magic. The highlight? Guardians of the Climats, Puligny Monrachet- performances, concerts, a gourmet village, fireworks… and yes, pours from top Burgundy domaines, including DRC.

Travel tip: Before booking your Burgundy wine trip, always check the Burgundy events calendar. Your wallet might score what wine collectors dream of. Follow @beaunetourisme and @climatsunesco for more….

Why does Montepulciano deserve a spot on your Tuscany itinerary, beyond the usual Chianti wine trail?

Because this charming Tuscan hilltop town gives you more than just another winery to tick off your list!

Wine tasting: Skip the winery hopping and head to the Enoliteca del Vino Nobile, where you can explore over 100 wine labels from local producers, all under one roof!

Tuscan charm: Cobblestone streets, Renaissance architecture, sweeping countryside views and plenty of excuses for a long Italian lunch.

And the best part? Montepulciano makes a fantastic day trip from Siena! Explore the historic town, taste its famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and soak up those picture-perfect Tuscan views, all in one day.

Looking for an unforgettable destination for a milestone celebration- your wedding, anniversary or birthday?

Before you spend a fortune on Lake Como or a grand Italian villa, look at the smaller Tuscan wineries and vineyard estates.

Because sometimes the venue already comes with the best parts:

- WINE for the happiness

- Vineyards for the backdrop

- Tuscan delicacies for the soul

- Views that barely need decorating

- And the kind of setting that makes everyone slow down and actually enjoy the occasion

And if you are counting the money in your bank to plan all this, then let me tell you that you will be surprised at what you can get for your buck.

Good wine + good food + Tuscany sounds like sometimes we don’t need a reason to celebrate good times.

You have probably paid extra for this black rooster sitting on a wine label, without knowing what it means.

It’s called the Gallo Nero, and if you see it on a bottle, you’re looking at Chianti Classico DOCG — not just “another Chianti.” Chianti and Chianti Classico are actually two separate wine denominations.

The rooster tells you the wine comes from the historic Chianti Classico region between Florence and Siena, where the wines follow their own stricter production rules and must contain at least 80% Sangiovese.

So no — the black rooster doesn’t automatically mean “better wine.” But it does tell you where your extra dollars may be going.

Next time you are buying Chianti, don’t just look at the price. Look for the rooster — and know what you are paying for.

Chianti or Chianti Classico? Riserva or Gran Selezione?

Before the fancy words on the label seduce you into spending more, know what they actually mean.

Because “higher up the hierarchy” doesn’t always mean “better for your palate.”

Maybe you want your Sangiovese fresher, brighter and juicier.
Maybe you want it deeper, more evolved and serious.

Choose your wine, not just the label status.

Planning a Tuscany wine trip and wondering where to stay?

If wine is high on your list, Siena makes a very smart base.

Chianti sits above you.

Montalcino and Brunello country are below.
Montepulciano and Val d’Orcia are within easy reach.

Don’t spend half your holiday driving back and forth, you can actually spend it tasting, eating and exploring. Florence is brilliant for Florence.

But for a wine-led Tuscan trip? I would chooseSiena.

Know someone who loves Siena as much as I do?

So many wine lovers go to Tuscany in search of great wines and even greater experiences. And they all want to know one question-Is a private wine tour in Tuscany worth the splurge?

Here’s my take: if you are going to Tuscany for the wine, it’s worth letting someone else do the hard work.

Because Tuscany is vast.

You have many subregions- Chianti Classico, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Bolgheri, San Gimignano, villages, communes, areas, scenic spots….figuring out what fits together geographically, which wineries to visit, how long to spend at each and how to get around can be daunting when you are doing it all yourself.

So why not give that job to someone who knows the region inside out?

Choose the wines and wineries that actually interest you. Stop for lunch. Skip some bits then add a few. Totally flexible.

And there’s one very important perk when you go wine tasting: No worry about “how am I getting back?”.

You sit back. You taste. You enjoy Tuscany.
I did mine with @morotuscanytours and they took me to Montalcino ‘coz that was at top of my list of places to visit in Tuscany.

Montalcino, Tuscany is home of Brunello di Montalcino, one of Italy’s most famous (and seriously expensive) wines🍷

But here’s my take: a bottle of Brunello isn’t the best way to experience Montalcino. A day spent driving through Montalcino’s vineyards, tasting Sangiovese where it actually grows, wandering through the hilltop town and taking in those views? That stays with you.

I was driven around by @morotuscanytours and I enjoyed the ride, more because I could taste the wines without worrying about who would drive me back home.

Something I have noticed again and again when travelling through wine regions: wine hits differently when you have seen the place behind the bottle.

Same Sangiovese. Same Montalcino. A completely different memory.

Have you had this feeling?
