I’ve been keeping a secret... 🤫🍷🎨

I am incredibly honored to announce that my composition, "Lágrimas y Suelo" (Tears and Terroir), has been selected for the "Tasteful: A Celebration of Food Culture and Creativity" exhibition at the @huntingtonarts 🎨 It was juried by Jeffrey Alvarado, a seasoned hospitality professional who owns The Last Word in Huntington Village, proudly serving guests since 2021

From May 7th to June 8th 🗓️ you can see how the "suelo" that feeds the vine and the reflection of the systems finally meet the canvas through a design kept me going when the news brought tears, through a juxtaposition I reflected that tears are also tasteful when they are wine tears.

There is much to say about how years of art therapy and going in and out of museums and dealing with pain through art has taken me here. And many of you might have had a lot of questions, how did I get into art in the first place? Hence you know the deal 👉

Hey Wine Lovers... Have we met?! 👋

Allow me to [re]introduce myself… and share some quirks too 😝

Martha Cisneros Paja aka WineDivaa, author of "Mexican Wines: A Guide to Fall in Love with Wines of Mexico". I am a latina wine educator.

Wine is one of my passions and New York is home. 🏙️

As a Latina entrepreneur in this vibrant city, I represent:

🔸 Diversity and inclusion: I believe in a wine world where all voices are heard and celebrated.

🔸 Human connection: Wine brings us together, and I'm dedicated to creating experiences that foster community and friendship.
🔸 What's fundamental to me? Human quality. I believe in the importance of genuine connection and mutual respect.
🔸 I still write handwritten notes. There's something special about putting pen to paper. 📝
🔸 I love to dance, and karaoke. 💃
🔸 I love to travel
🔸 I'm a sucker for a good sunset. 🌅
🔸 I love connecting with people over a glass of wine. 🥂 (Surprise, surprise!)

If you think you don’t like Prosecco, darling, you simply haven’t tried Superiore. 🥂✨

I traded the Manhattan hustle for a virtual escape to the UNESCO-listed hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene with the fabulous Adamaria Nardi of @lafarra_winery 😉 We tasted through three breathtaking expressions of handcrafted, high-altitude bubbles that completely redefine Italian sparkling wine. From hand-harvested steep slopes to Equalitas-certified sustainability, these bottles are pure liquid elegance.

Featured Wines Tasted:
🔸Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Rive di Farra di Soligo Millesimato Extra Dry
🔸Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Millesimato Brut
🔸Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Rive di Farra di Soligo Millesimato Extra Brut

✨ More than an icon, a creator of her own destiny. ✨

You might see me on your feed raising a glass of this gorgeous Piper-Heidsieck Champagne @piper_heidsieck tribute, but behind the bubbles, there’s a deeper connection. 🥂✨

Most people know Marilyn Monroe as a silver screen star, but she was also a groundbreaking producer who fought to own her narrative in an industry that tried to define her. She had to completely reinvent and put herself out there to break barriers for women at that time.
Honestly? I feel that deeply. 🫶🏽

Being a Latina wine educator and sharing this world isn’t just about writing reviews or tasting notes. To truly communicate wine, you have to put your alma and personality out there. It’s a constant hustle to create your own space, share your voice, and build something meaningful, even when people don’t fully understand the work behind the screen.

Every bottle has a story, and so do we. Here’s to the grit, the passion, and the courage it takes to step into the spotlight and create your own path. Salud to that! 🍾❤️

☁️✨ Taking my tastebuds all the way to the clouds!
I recently visited the stunning @nubeluzbyjose and wow the views aren’t the only thing that will take your breath away. 🏙️

If you love exploring unique, high-quality spirits, you have to look out for Sotol Romo 🥃. It’s now being poured at ultra-luxury spots like Nubeluz, and its smooth, wild-harvested character is an absolute dream for the palate.
While soaking in the skyline, I tried the famous “Salt Cloud” by José Andrés, beautifully crafted with Sotol Romo. Those bright, zesty citrus notes paired so effortlessly with the dreamy cloud views and some incredible Spanish bites. Truly una maravilla! 🇪🇸👌🏽
It brings this gorgeous, earthy complexity to the glass that makes the whole experience feel like pure magia.

👇🏽 Have you ever tasted Sotol, or are you putting Nubeluz on your NYC bucket list? Let me know in the comments! 👇🏽

About eight years ago, I started writing about wine as a hobby.

Yesterday, I woke up to the news that USA Ratings @usaratings has named me a Top Wine Writer, alongside many established voices in the wine industry.

This recognition comes at a time when independent writing and digital media are navigating significant change, from the rise of AI to an evolving media landscape. Through it all, I have stayed true to a simple approach: writing in plain English, focusing on food pairings, and sharing wine the way I experience it.

My perspective may be unique, but it is also shaped by the perspectives of others. I believe the wine world is richer when more voices are invited into the conversation. Reading different viewpoints helps all of us develop our own understanding and appreciation of wine.

Just yesterday, I was encouraging a young wine enthusiast to start writing tasting notes and sharing their experiences. That is exactly how I began. What started as a hobby has led to opportunities to meet winemakers, tell their stories, and connect audiences with the people and places behind the wines they enjoy.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who opened doors for an introverted sommelier and technical project manager to bring a different lens to the wine industry. Your support, trust, and encouragement made this journey possible.

Thank you to my readers, industry colleagues, winemakers, and fellow enthusiasts who continue to make this community so rewarding.

Here's to many more stories, conversations, and great bottles shared along the way. 🍷 by @winedivaa

🥂✨ An afternoon of pure Chardonnay magic! ✨🥂

Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating the highly anticipated launch of the Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 2017! 🌟

📍 The Venue: The stunningly elegant Maison Barnes in NYC, the perfect, sophisticated backdrop for such a legendary Champagne house.

We kicked off the afternoon in style, raising a glass of Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs served from magnificent magnums. You already know how much I adore this style! It is incredibly refreshing, elegant, and the epitome of luxury, beautifully paired with exquisite French-inspired canapés. 🥐🍾

But the star of the show was undoubtedly the newly released Blanc des Millénaires 2017. We had the honor of hearing from Émilie from the Charles Heidsieck team, who shared the passion behind this rare bottling.

💡 The Learning:
What makes Charles Heidsieck so iconic? It’s all about being “Chardonnay-forward” with a strict focus on structure and high acidity. That brilliant acidity is the secret sauce behind “Charlie’s” incredible longevity. 🍇
As Émilie shared, the Blanc des Millénaires represents only about 5% to 10% of their total production, making this cuvée exceptionally exclusive and rare.

A HUGE thank you to the Charles Heidsieck team and their importers for hosting such an unforgettable, high-vibe afternoon. Toasting to craftsmanship, history, and the beauty of great Champagne! 🥂❤️ @charlesheidsieckchampagne @foliofinewine @frenchi_emilie

Today we are traveling with our glasses to one of the oldest, most resilient, and incredibly fascinating wine regions in the world: Lebanon. 🇱🇧🍷

Winemaking in Lebanon dates back over 5,000 years to the Phoenicians, and today, regions like the Bekaa Valley are producing world-class wines that demand your attention. Think rich, structured, deeply complex blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, and Cinsault, alongside stunningly aromatic whites.

These aren't just bottles of wine; they are liquid history, crafted by winemakers who have persevered through incredible challenges to share their craft with the world. If you want a wine with a deep soul, complexity, and incredible aging potential, Lebanese wine is it.

Swipe through to discover a few of my favorite Lebanese producers to look for on your next wine shop run! 🏃 if you don’t find them in the aisle as your liquor store to bring them up to you 💪🏾✨

Let’s talk about why Cava deserves space on your table.

Having spent years living and studying in Spain, I’ve seen how these wines evolve, the complexity is in the tension between acidity and the effect of lees aging.

Today I am looking at two expressions that demonstrate how different priorities in the cellar change the final structure:

🥂 Anna de Codorníu Blanc de Blancs NV @codorniuglobal
Composition: 70% Chardonnay, 15% Parellada, 8% Xarel·lo, 7% Macabeo.
Profile: With 15 months on lees, this focuses on creaminess, volume, and a polished, international style.

🥂 Marqués de Cáceres Brut NV @vineyardbrands
Composition: 50% Xarel·lo, 30% Macabeo, 20% Parellada.
Profile: A classic, native-grape triad that prioritizes tension, minerality, and the citrus-driven structure characteristic of the region’s traditional style.

If you want to understand the architecture of a true Cava, start here.

No corkscrew? No glass allowed at the beach or pool? No problem. I’ve rounded up my absolute favorite canned wines that pack all the quality, complexity, and joy of a bottle, perfectly portioned for your next picnic, barbecue, or alfresco dining night.

Pop these in your cooler:

🍇 Maker Wine: I love their ethos! They partner with independent, small-production winemakers and put their actual names and stories front and center on the can. Highly curated and totally "pro-focused." @makerwine

🥂 Une Femme: "The Callie": A stunning, sophisticated Sparkling Rosé. It’s woman-led, crisp, and feels incredibly fancy even out of a can. @unefemmewines

🍷 Chilled Pinot Noir: Yes, a red! Highlighting a canned Pinot that actually holds onto its beautiful fruit complexity and elegant structure when slightly chilled. Perfect for sunset grilling. @unionwinecompany

🌊 Long Island Wine (In a Can!): Local love! Offering fantastic quality, it's beautifully dry, crisp, and represents incredible value for the price. It's my ultimate choice to pack for a beach day or a summer hike @bridgelanewine

Swipe to see the lineup 📸✨

WineDivaa Truth: You do NOT have to spend your rent money to get that ultra-crisp, premium European white wine experience. 🤫✨

If you’re a die-hard fan of pricey Chablis or Sancerre but your wallet needs a break, let me introduce you to your new summer obsession: Rare California Trousseau Gris.

This grape is an absolute hidden gem. Originally from eastern France, it has found a magical home in select California vineyards. It gives you that gorgeous, flinty minerality, high-toned acidity, and vibrant stone fruit energy that makes costly French whites so famous, but at a fraction of the price. It’s smart, it’s chic, and it’s a total conversation starter.

My friend Erin founded @ecr_vintners is making wines with this grape 🍇 and she nailed it!!! 😜

Swipe to see the exact bottle from ECR Vintners @ecr_vintners that needs to be in your glass this week. 🥂
