POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Couldn’t imagine a better group to share the screen with for THE LIFE OF THE PARTY’S Vidiots premiere last month.

Thank you to all who came out for these three unique and spectacular films, demonstrating the range and versatility of the short documentary format. Thank you to our generous partners @docproducers, @nonfictionhotlist, and @vc_losangeles; thank you to @vidiots for hosting us in your beautiful space; thank you to filmmakers Freddie Gluck and Winslow Crane-Murdoch for sharing your talents; and thank you to everyone who approached us afterward to chat about the pain of watching friends and family disappear down rabbit holes of political and religious extremism. We live in extraordinary times, but they’ll only get better through a concerted effort to communicate more effectively. 💙

🐊 GATORVILLE debuts online on November 5. @gatorvillefilm

ACQUISITION NEWS!

An exploding whale. A psychology student moonlighting at a strip club. A widow braving a night of speed dating. A working-class Scottish town staging its own story. A love letter to the much-maligned pigeon.

Meet SPOTLIGHT: SWITCHBOARD SHORTS — our first-ever festival showcase, screening at the 9th Annual @heartlandfilm Indy Shorts International Film Festival, July 21–26 in Indianapolis.

We can’t wait for you to see them, meet their makers, and understand why we said yes the moment each one crossed our desk. Anyone who’s ever fallen hard for a film knows the feeling — a story arrives so fully itself, so unmistakably the work of a particular person, that the only thing left to do is get out of its way and help it find people.

And we’re in remarkable company: Indy Shorts is one of just 34 Academy Award–qualifying short film festivals in the world, and its Spotlight program has previously featured curated blocks from The New Yorker, MTV Documentary Films, and The New York Times Op-Docs.

Screening order and full schedule drop June 25. We’ll see you there! by @winmurdoch
