not the feet 😂 (sorry not sorry) anyways for me it’s not a hot girl fall without a hot girl thrift trip <3 and tbh if you’re still not thrifting or use the ‘it’s not for me excuse’ genuinely what??

if you know me, you KNOW I love a good thrift trip!! 🤎✨ Some of my favourite clothing pieces are thrifted and some of my favourite home finds are also thrifted!!

My current mission is to whimsy-fy our home 🍂🕯️ so we went thrifting!!!! WINS @winsyyc is always my go to! I donate exclusively here, and I love knowing that $0.87 of every dollar spent goes toward their programs and services supporting women and families in our community. 🫶🏼 WINS is a Calgary based charity that reinvests revenue from its thrift stores into helping women and families thrive.

When I’m in the right mood...I could spend HOURS browsing thrift stores 😂 I still need more goodies for our home, so I’ll definitely be back at a WINS near me soon hehe but for now, here’s a little look at what I tried on and what came home with me!

Poverty costs more than money.

For many families, financial pressure doesn’t affect just one part of life. It can shape where you live, what you eat, how you get to work, whether you can afford childcare, and the choices available when there simply isn’t enough to cover everything.

And being above the poverty line doesn’t always mean being financially secure. Rising rent, an unexpected bill or a missed paycheque can quickly create a crisis.

At WINS, we see how these pressures can overlap and why addressing poverty means looking beyond income to the supports that help women and their families build greater stability.

Leading up to October 17, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, we’re looking at the many ways poverty can affect everyday life, and the pathways that can help people move forward.

It can mean struggling to afford groceries after rent is paid. It can mean not having reliable transportation to get to work, feeling isolated without a support system, or facing barriers that make it harder to move forward.

Poverty is about more than income. It can affect stability, dignity, belonging, opportunity and hope.
Leading up to October 17, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, WINS is continuing the conversation about the many ways poverty can show up in the lives of women and their families, and why addressing it means looking at the whole picture.

Over the coming days, we’ll explore the different dimensions of poverty, the barriers women and families face, and the pathways that can help create greater stability.
