STEFAN WINTERLE at KNOTENPUNKT26

When working with spray cans I constantly have to spray the cap to clear it. For years, I have been using wooden boards for this purpose, which I hang at my spray workstation. This triptych here as the central work in the choir, has grown over several years from three such “ready-made” or “work- in-progress” pieces. To be seen at Kunstverein Kirchzarten until December 14th 2025. taken in Kirchzarten Black Forest by @winterle76

My exhibition “Layers of identity” is on display until December 14th at the Art Association of Kirchzarten in the Black Forrest. Their venue is the town’s old Protestant church. It’s been a great experience to work in this amazing space. taken in Kirchzarten Black Forest by @winterle76

On Sunday, November 16, at the invitation of the Kirchzarten Art Association, I will be opening my new exhibition “Layers of Identity” in the Old Protestant Church. For over 20 years, I have been working with stencils and spray paint to make my ideas visible.
In this beautiful Black Forest village, I will be showing a mix of works on canvas, paper, and concrete. Come by - I look forward to seeing you there. taken in Kirchzarten Black Forest by @winterle76

Some journeys take you back in time and closer to yourself. In Montignac, deep in the Dordogne, I visited the legendary Lascaux Museum. The replica cave, recreated with astonishing precision, captures the spirit of the original discovered in 1940. Standing there, surrounded by ancient art and silence, I felt the pulse of the first artists. Raw. Timeless. Human. No photos were allowed inside - and honestly that made the experience even more powerful. But I was able to capture the stunning architecture and the artists’ workshop where the replica came to life - both equally inspiring. taken in Grottes de Lascaux by @winterle76

Above the rooftops of Ötlingen, past half-timbered House and new buildings, the view stretches as far as the Rhineland and Alsace. I only wanted to paint one picture but ended up painting two. Both have already moved on. taken in Dreiländereck Deutschland-Frankreich-Schweiz by @winterle76
