What have we been up to over here at Splitrock Studios? Well, it’s been a busy summer! The concrete slab floors are poured, all of our windows and glass are in, and our rubber roofs are installed and water tight! Progress is steady, with some weeks seeing massive changes based on certain trades working hard and milestones being accomplished! Up next is exterior insulation and all of the rough mechanicals. Want to learn more about what we are planning to offer? Want to join our interest list to become an artist resident here in Spring 2027? Check out our website! Join our Interest List! Splitrock Studios is a private live-work home that can house three artists and creative professionals at any given time. Each resident will have a private bedroom suite, dedicated studio space, and ample individual storage space. There will also be thoughtfully designed communal space for the residents (living room, kitchen, dining, laundry). The property is designed around a pretty simple idea: where you live should support the life you are trying to build. If this sounds like it might be a fit for you, you can learn more and join our Interest List via the links in our bio. We can’t wait to get to know you! A short moment to reflect- It’s not easy to work on, film, believe in, pray for, grind (literally), edit, and post everything going on here at Splitrock Studios. That being said, we will continue to have some exciting updates to share with you all in the coming days and weeks! Thank you for following along, this is just the beginning 🪨💪🏻 #buildprocess #constructionproject #artstudio #artistresidence #grind by @wirebyryan
I keep hearing that things take time. It’s hard to be ok with that statement when time costs so much, mostly being monetarily. I picked up this giant split granite slab from @capeanngranite almost 2.5 years ago with a vision of matching our mailbox post and continuing the “split rock” aesthetic of our brand and dream. Today, it was finally installed (with the help of the amazing TW crew and my operator dad). It took a long time to go from laying on the ground next to my trailers to upright ready for some address numbers (soon to be designed by @wirebyryan and @lindsayhall_art ) I can say the feeling I had standing on it was definitely worth the wait. I’m praying I continue to feel that feeling as all of the other insane things we have been waiting to finally see finally get seen here at @splitrock__studios One rock and board at a time.
