Do you have a baby under the age of three? If you're looking for a laid-back, free weekly session or class, to get you out and about and keep your little one entertained, try your local library's Bounce & Rhyme!

Baby bounce & Rhyme takes place once a week at your local Wirral library. There's no obligation to attend every session and it's okay if you turn up late. It's half an hour long but of course you're welcome to hang around afterwards, have a chat, or browse the books with your baby.

You can book on eventbrite here!

October is #BlackHistoryMonth in the UK! If you're visiting the library this month, why not pick up a historical novel by a Black author, or a story that follows a Black protagonist? If you prefer non-fiction, you could try a biography of a Black historical figure!

Here are a few great historical novels we have in stock - have you read any of these? Check our library catalogue to see what's where!

Pop into Birkenhead Central library between now and the 23rd October to learn all about Birkenhead's own @carltonlittletheatre with our mini exhibition!

Based on Grange Road West, The Carlton Little Theatre was established by The Carlton Players, who bought up an old Presbyterian church after WW2 and transformed it into a performance space for the people of Birkenhead. They still perform there today - as do many other local dramatic groups and dance schools.

As well as plays, musicals and pantomimes, The Little Theatre also offers theatre and studio hire and volunteering opportunities! by @wirral_libraries
