Run, don’t walk to go see @schoolgirlsbroadway !!! What an amazing play by @jjbioh that will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between. Regardless of the uncertainty with the industry and Hollywood, theatre will never die and it’s a blessing to watch all of these amazing artists do their thing on stage. All the feels. Brava. Thank you, ladies! 💐💐💐💐💐💐

Man, what can I say? Thank you Jesus! All praise to the Most High! I’m truly humbled and grateful to have been given the opportunity by @hollywoodconfidential and everyone behind the scenes in the casting process to perform a scene from Black Panther for their “An Evening With Lupita” event. What an honor to do what we love as actors, storytellers and creatives not only in front of our peers but also in front of the honoree of the night herself, @lupitanyongo . You and your body of work have really reminded us of what you said 10 years ago. “Your dreams are valid.” I cannot WAIT to check out @aquietplace and to see more of what you have in store for us as an artist and a storyteller.

Thank you so much to my amazing and talented scene partner @ashley_chatman who made rehearsing this not only fun, but challenged me to dig deeper and to pull more out. Y’all look out for her!!!

And lastly, as someone who looked up so much to @chadwickboseman , I truly hope I did you proud. Your legacy will always live on not only in the work you decided to bless us with and share with everyone, but also with how you carried yourself and moved through this world. You were such a gift, and you still are. You’ve inspired a whole new generation and we will continue to do the work. Always. #ForChadwick🕊️

Is it +1🎂 or -1🎂? Perspective is a crazy thing ain’t it?.
Anyway, definitely glad to still be around cuz life definitely tried to take my ass out quite a few times, but still I rise!

I think I’m getting to the point in life where I don’t really have a “plan”, like I’m just letting God take the wheel and of course imma do my part but we ain’t stressin’.

Shoutout to my village witches for continually trying (and failing). I would say give it up already but they genuinely keep me on my toes and knees. Pause.

The most important things I’m learning about life is, just live it. Don’t pretend for social media, be real confident but real humble cuz life is funny, and nothing is worth your peace of mind. Nothing. Oh, or your soul either. Hold onto those things.

I think this next chapter is gon be called “walking on water”. Stay tuned.

Love y’all 🖤🙏🏿 by @wisdomnchocolate

@wisdomnchocolate talks about his experience filming his story for Wounds to Wisdom. Being vulnerable about depression, anxiety and even suicidal ideation is not common amongst black men.

But we are changing that narrative one story at a time.

@african_artists_association x @arraynow AFRIKART: A Celebration of African Artistry.

Time and time again I’m reminded by God why I can’t stop now and why I should keep going. My responsibility to filmmakers, storytellers, and my fellow creatives in the diaspora is something that’s always been bigger than me, unfortunately. *sigh* But, we stand on the shoulders of the giants who came before us and we continue to build. It’s in us, and nothing or no one can ever take that away from us. taken in Los Angeles, California by @wisdomnchocolate
