Doot doot doot! Paco is almost 30 years old. He has arthritis in his legs and wings. His wings aren’t clipped, his arthritis has caused his primary feathers to grow in wrong and he pulls them out because they’re painful. Old man life is tough ❤️🥹 #cockatiel by @witchychickens

These were Paco’s favorite toys. He loved his little ribbon ball and his mirror with stickers that we’d put on it so he could pick them off. He’d sit here and twirl his ribbon and eat snacks we’d give him off our plates. It’s been a rough few morning without him, so I’m leaving this little crochet cockatiel here to remind me of him. Miss you so much Paco. by @witchychickens

Paco crossed the rainbow bridge last night, safe at home with us and being told how much we loved him. 30 years with him was a wonderful blessing. I’d known him since I was in middle school and I’m 40 now. He was originally my grandparents, and when they passed away took him in. He was a part of my life for so long, and breakfast is so much quieter without him asking to share or talking to his mirror or getting scritches. He’d been on heart medicine for around 8 months, and was really slowing down recently. We knew it was coming, just not when, as it is with so many elderly animals. If you met Paco or saw a video with him, I’m so glad he touched your life like he did ours. Rest well my sweet little man, I hope Granny and Pappy met you on the bridge, they loved you so much too. by @witchychickens

My girls normally lay brown eggs but today someone laid a white one! Did they see a ghost? Are they trying to change it up for fun?? Has anyone ever had their chickens do this?! by @witchychickens

He tries so hard but he’s so old 😭. Paco is between 28-30, I’m not sure his exact age because my grandparents got him when I was in middle school, but he’s living his best retired life. #cockatiel #cockatielsofig by @witchychickens

He never used to make these noises, but now that he’s so old, has arthritis, and gets heart medicine once a day, he’s started making these relaxed little peeps when it’s scritch time. It’s so cute, he almost sounds like a baby cockatiel! Does anyone else’s bird do this? #cockatiel #cockatielsofig taken in Seattle, Washington by @witchychickens

My partner and I have been playing a lot of magic recently, and of course everyone needs to be involved. Paco (who is around 30 years old) has been having a really hard time lately (he’s had some bad seizures and gets heart medicine daily) and has had to switch to flat perches, and it’s been really hard for him with his arthritis to walk on surfaces like tables. So, obviously, he gets held because he’s the most important old man ever. And the kitty is my cat Mojo, who is 17 and very crunchy. #magicthegathering #mtgcommunity #commandermtg by @witchychickens
