It’s about time for a proper introduction. Meet: Culture of Calm 🩵

Culture of Calm is a culmination of my formal studies in sound therapy, the science of the nervous system, trauma-informed work, and my lived experience as a neurodivergent person.

After more than six years studying and witnessing the profound impact of slower, simpler sound, I began to notice something…

These experiences are often offered in wellness spaces — but the places that may need them most are often the busiest, most overstimulating environments we move through every day.

Spaces like…

Transit environments Healthcare settings Conferences Workplaces Correctional facilities

…and more.

Culture of Calm explores how sound can be used more intentionally within these environments — creating moments of relief, presence, and connection in places built for speed and constant stimulation.

Let’s talk sensory wellness! 🥸

I’ve recently started offering sound baths at @hyggewellnessc and got to explore some of their offerings. OFC, the sensory geek in me was VERY excited about this 🤓

From vibroacoustic therapy to light therapy and an ionic crystal cave, I LOVE how they integrate various sensory modalities into their space. Nervous system regulation is quite personal so having options is great to find what works for you 🫶

What would you add to this wall?

Last week I celebrated my 39th birthday with my fam in the coolest lil town called Elora just about an hour from Toronto.

If you know me, I’m a huge fan of participatory art. So it was pure magic when I stumbled into this amazing clothing store that had a wall asking people to write down an “epiphany”.

Some things are felt before they’re understood.

Sound has a way of changing how we experience a moment. It can change the tone of voice in our minds, shift our energy and create space to breathe.

When we began thinking about how to deepen the Synq Wellness experience, sound felt like a natural next step.

Today, I’m so excited to introduce Synq Wellness Soundscapes, created in collaboration with @biancalee.

Bianca has brought her beautiful understanding of sound into our world, creating immersive meditation soundscapes and mindfulness audio to accompany the moments when you want to take a breath and reset.

This feels like a really special milestone. What began with movement has grown into a space for the mind, body and soul.

Did anyone else feel the intensity of today’s storm?

“I felt like I was moving through the storm as it was happening. My mood turned so dark, so heavy as the dark clouds took over the city. The intensity of the storm swept me away and I felt as though I was in parallel with the experience. The heaviness. The ups and downs. Then, there was a moment when there was this light that started to permeate the sky. It started small and got bigger. It felt like hope was being restored in real time. I got emotional. I felt a release as the sky opened up. Witnessing the good, the light. Darkness isn’t forever. There must be darkness to know light.”

Week 2 of The Calm Space at @lesliemarket 🩵✨

This week drew lots of curious little kiddos 🥹 and insightful conversations around where this work could exist.

Much of this pop-up has been an experiment.

I’m learning to trust the process and that the “right” people will be drawn to step inside the space.

I’m learning the importance of talking about my work and why I do what I do (which, side-note, if you’re like me … an “ideas person”… moving an idea out of your head and into real convos is VERY helpful)

I’ve been learning a LOT about letting go of perfectionism and so much more.

Massive huge biggggg thank you to my sis @_soniamondino who helped me bring this to life this week. Truthfully it has been a v trying week dealing with an injury + limited mobility, late luteal phase energy 🥲 amongst other things, so I appreciate your support more than words 🥰❤️

And big thank you to @raijinasian for offering to take some snaps 📸!!

Let’s talk about some cool DJ work…

I recently had the honour of DJing @wynfordtwg’s 40th anniversary party at the iconic @theelmocambo 💜

Some of you may know that I worked a corporate banking job for about 12 years before I took the leap in 2019 to pursue my love for music full time.

While I was working my 9-5 I was presented with the opportunity to DJ some of the company’s special incentive events… abroad! ✈️😳

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working in beautiful locations like Banff, Dominican Republic and even Singapore.

These were several day-long gigs and I got to know the teams that put these unbelievable incentive trips together. For me, spending time with the crew was the highlight of these trips.

Enter: @wynfordtwg 💜

Wynford has been like a second family for me throughout my DJ career and beyond. Kindness, excellence and fun are a few words that come to mind when I think about the culture behind this team. Their execution is consistently flawless and celebrating 40 years in the business is a huge testament to the culture they’ve built over the years.

So with that, congratulations to the incredible Wynford team. I am eternally grateful for your support over the years and am always in awe of the magic you create.
