As we were watching the @olympics women’s DH coverage on @cbcolympics , and it happened to be on a course hold due to @lindseyvonn nasty crash, we had a wise old visitor out our window. First time seeing a Great Horned Owl out here, probably the one we hear 👂 out the windows as we fall asleep 😴.

Hey Winnipeg - Melanie and I have been in town for a few days to celebrate some family events. In the hopes of seeing more of you and less time driving across the city, we’ll be hanging at my parents place in Riverview after 3pm tomorrow. Come by, say hi, there’s a BBQ if you want to cook food, and we’ll be there enjoying this lovely weather.

March 1st, mid teen temps and overcast skies. What better way to welcome spring than three hours of garden work. Garlic 🧄 is emerging nicely and the Rhubarb is poking through with the warm temps this week. Slowly getting the addition to our plot ready, sooooo many weeds. by @wizard204

Thankful.

Thankful for this women and the life we’ve created. Twenty years since we started our adventure together.

Thankful we’re creating new traditions, like this one. Our third Sombrio Beach thanksgiving dinner was the best yet. 20c on a beach in October eating fantastic food, good drinks, amazing company… it’s hard to imagine it any other way.

Harvest / canning season is upon us. Picked 4L of blackberries in 30min this evening, we did that after picking up 30lbs + of free pears, along with plumbs and apples from someone up the peninsula. by @wizard204

The simple joy that is gardening. Working the earth. Planting something. Then watching it grow.

In this case it was my amazingly good luck to have grown such a brilliant head of romaine all before June 1st. We’ve had three meal sized salads with one more to go before we move on to the next one!

Thank you nature for what you provide! Since I was a child there’s been nothing better than a fresh garden salad 🥗 on a gorgeous summer day!
