ICYMI: A recent Business Insider article about LinkedIn's investment in creator-led events and content reveals that the platform is increasingly rewarding expertise, perspective and trusted voices. Executive visibility and thought leadership are becoming central to how organizations build influence online.

That shift has strategic implications for brands. Why? Because attention and engagement increasingly follow people with informed points of view who help audiences make sense of what’s happening in their industries.

In a crowded content environment, perspective carries weight and visibility is closely tied to credibility.

Had to capture this dreamy harbor view with Colleen Anderson, executive director for client San Diego Tourism Marketing District (SDTMD) at its recent board meeting, where the group's hospitality leaders were hard at work preparing for FY27.

A recent @apnews story about a prize-winning fiction writer accused of using AI caught our attention this week. Not because AI may have been involved, but because even editors and judges couldn’t confidently determine what was human-created.

That’s the bigger story.

AI has already commoditized content production. The differentiator now is judgment. Earning trust through credibility and originality is becoming a greater competitive advantage than simply creating more content faster.

The organizations that stand out in the AI era won’t necessarily be the loudest. They’ll be the ones audiences trust to communicate with authentic perspective and sound judgment.

While technology can accelerate production, it simply can’t replace reputation.

ICYMI: Last week, the @burnhamcentersd officially launched OneSD, a coalition of organizations committed to strengthening San Diego’s culture of tolerance and constructive problem-solving. The standing-room-only turnout of 350+ leaders, residents and changemakers from across San Diego County made one thing clear: people are hungry for meaningful connection, deeper trust and a more collaborative future.

What stood out wasn’t just the bipartisan support or cross-sector participation. It was the recognition that community trust is foundational to solving the challenges facing our region. In a time when trust in institutions feels fragile, OneSD matters because it starts with a different premise: progress happens when people feel seen and part of the solution.

Here’s hoping this marks the beginning of meaningful progress that happens faster than many expect! Thanks to everyone who's making a difference for San Diego, particularly Tad Seth Parzen, County Supervisor Joel Anderson and City Councilmember Raul A. Campillo.

At a recent community meeting, a resident said, “We’re not confused. We just don’t believe you yet.” The messaging was clear. But something didn’t hold.

We see versions of this across senior living, tourism and nonprofit organizations all the time. A family pauses during a tour. Residents question a strategy that doesn’t reflect their reality. A donor hesitates, even when the message sounds right.

Stakeholders are weighing what they hear against what they experience, and they’re doing it in real time. That’s where trust is decided.

If you’re navigating stakeholder trust, this is the distinction that will shape how your message is received. Read more here: https://wrightoncomm.com/communications-strategy-build-community-trust/ by @woc_resonance
